February 6, 201016 yr Has anyone done a review yet please?I'm seriously thinking of this one but don't want to get my feet wet :( www.swfsg.co.ukHi Dave, I have it and it is a great external model with great attention to detail as always. As for a review goes, perhaps this is what you have in mind..."I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats!" :( i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

February 7, 201016 yr Author Well, a review is a description of what a buyer would expect to see. How it performs and the outstanding points on how much better it is in comparison with the aircraft that uses the same panel as this one, or does it?Reviews, especially written by ordinary customers are the 'best selling' value of any supplier.Having read many of your previous comments in this forum Dan, I would have thought that PMDG would have supplied this add-on for nothing, simply because you are a valued contributor to their forum. All your words are full of wisdom. ;) Dave Taylor
February 8, 201016 yr Thanks Dave, I appreciate the nice words on my other posts. As for the -8, I have always loved the 747 in general because of it's enormous size, so love it even more now that it's even bigger. The detailed engines are pretty sweet really add to the overall visuals when in slew mode. I especially like the increased frame rate and steering. By steering I mean it now feels more realistic that I am trying to maneuver such a large aircraft through the taxi ways and is a little harder adding to the experience. The transparent windows are great too! All in all, it is well worth the $25. The only con I have if it is even to be considered a con would be that it doesn't have it's own aircraft folder and aircraft.cfg. As for PMDG and taking care of their community (as you mentioned: "I would have thought that PMDG would have supplied this add-on for nothing"), I'm not sure what I can and shouldn't say but let's just say they have shown me much appreciation and I am extremely grateful ;-)I haven't had much of a chance to use it lately. I am still rebuilding my system since I just reinstalled FSX and some more addons on's. Both hardware and software so the process has been going slow. I just added the Buttkicker and Saiteks Com panel as well as TrackIR-5 Pro. Also having just reinstalled I have had to fix an issue with my Matrox Triplehead2Go and took me a while to get the 5040x1050 resolution in Win 7, but that's all set now.Oh, I also just got Logitechs G27 forcefeedback steeringwheel/Triple peddle/6 position Clutch and have been rather hooked this weekend playing around with Dirt2. It's nice to see what games look like that actually use the power of my video cards once in a while ;-) i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

Strange how I googled racing sims a few times and LFS never came up. I downloaded it and for such a small file it looks great. I'll try it out later when I have more time. The G25 and G27 are very much the same without much differences from what I read. I wish Saitek would take notes from them for the next time they release a flight yoke, it would be nice to have a little force feedback :( Anywho, the G25/27 is superb, and since I ordered it I've been trying to find some decent driving sims that will run at my res of 5040x1050 and this indeed does! When I have more time later I'll try it out with my new TrackIR :)Thanks again for the heads up! And congrats also on your recent -8 purchase, hope you enjoy it as much as I do. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
February 9, 201016 yr Hello allJust some of my comments regarding the B747-800i after my first test flight using the BA livery:1-The plane is identical of the B747-400 in terms of instruments and control, but there are a considerable amount of progress in regards to sound, warning systems, I also had for the first time message saying I am exceeding the RPM of the engines while I was in climbing phase and faced by strong wind trying to achieve my 300K climbing speed.2- The 2d cockpit has some areas that smaller than the screen when I tried to fix that by dragging, it reduced the wind screen size?3-PMDG added extra views to the 3D cockpit much better now.3-Secondary part of the flaps (middle short one) was down no matter what I did the whole flight time, while there was no effect(I guess) on the engines or speed maybe I pressed the wrong button? J 4-The exterior is so well done and very professional better than ever, lights are much better than B747-400, the plane looks perfect and gracious, don Alaa A. RiadJust love to fly...............
