February 7, 201016 yr Is it possible to save Settings scenarios in FSX? For example, on the Graphics or Scenery pages, once you have sliders set , the Global Settings line changes to Custom. Is it possible to change this name to something else such as Large Airport, then set up another one for Medium Airports, etc.? That way when you start to got choppy frames near a large airport for example, you can just change the Global setting all at once to one you have tweaked. When I click on the bar some default scenarios can be selected such as Medium High, or Low, but when I try to type over Custom nothing happens. Thanks. Tom

TomI believe that's what we call saving a configuration. There's a 'block' of 38 items that are saved.See OPTIONS > SETTINGS > SAVE and name it whatever you want and reload whenever you want.find the details and more information in the learning center.Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
February 7, 201016 yr Here'a a more in-depth explanation of how to do it in a tutorial I wrote on the REX forum (they "sticky" posted it). There are a couple posts in the thread, so read them all.http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/forum/index.php?topic=898.0FalconAF Rick Ryan

I've had it for about a month now, and it is easily one of the best utilities for FSX (or FS9) I've ever bought. And only $10. It allows you to create FSX.CFG file "profiles" and save them, using any or all of the entries that can be used in the FSX.CFG file. I already created over 30 different profiles for different flight types just like you asked about in your first post. I just open FSXGO, select a profile, then it starts FSX automatically. You can also set the profile to use a script if you want, so you can launch other addons first (like weather engines, flight planners, etc), use them, then FSX starts. I rarely use any of those "saved" scenery cfg files I described in my referenced tutorial a couple posts above while flying in FSX anymore. The only time I MIGHT still use one is if I want to change a slider setting in FSX while flying, without having any OTHER slider reset to a default maximum value...like causing my LOD_Radius=8.0 to get reset to 4.5, or the Texture_Max_Load=4096 to get reset to 1024.Rick Rick Ryan
