February 9, 201016 yr I saw a post here about convering textures to DXt3,but now can't find it.It gave instructions on how to do it.Since I have a modest rig, this would help my frame rates.Any help appreciated.Ron Ron Service .
February 9, 201016 yr The Textures of PMDG are in DXT5-Format.So converting them down to DXT3 would be contraproductive.CheerioFlorian
February 10, 201016 yr Personally, I wouldn't bother transforming DXT5 to DXT3. There are a few differences but the main one is file size and Alpha transition. DXT5 I believe is more uncompressed than DXT3 so a slightly larger file size but better performance since it is less compressed. I have actually done the oposited in the past where I converted all of my textures to DXT5.DXT5 also has better Alpha transition since in DXT3 alpha information is stored in 4 bit, and the way it stores it's alpha data. So in short, I wouldn't bother converting. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
