February 18, 201016 yr I have a good system: I7 965 3.20GHz 6 MB ram W7 64 bit and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 295. FSX actually performs very well on my system. I have all the standard addons, NHancer, GEX, FEX, I use UT2 and have acquired most of the great sceneries out there. The one glitch is when saving a flight plan FSX crashes. Is this a Windows 7 thing? Does anyone have any ideas?Lee :( Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090

February 19, 201016 yr Author Flights save okay once you can get through the crashes. I think the docs folder is fine. I thought it might be some W7 thing, like the one where you have to right click on the white when trying to add a scenery in the scenery library. I can use tab and enter and not crash as often, but the mouse really triggers the crashes. The mouse is fine in the rest of the FSX functions.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090

Is this a Windows 7 thing? Does anyone have any ideas?Lee :(If there was an issue saving flight plans, it would have been brought to everyones attention by now like the issue with adding scenery in the Scenery Library as described above. Back in the early days of FSX, there was an issue with FSX crashing whenever the edges of the kneeboard were touched with the mouse. It turned out to be a bad installation of the video card drivers and in some cases the sound card drivers that was causing the conflict. This may be the problem in your situation as I believe you are the first one to report this problem. FSX saves its flight plans in the My Documents/Flight Simulator X files and, if this file does not exist for some reason or is corrupt, it may be crashing as it can't find the folder. You might also look in the Event Viewer and see if there's an error report for these crashes and see if it references a driver file or fsx dll file that is causing the crashes. Best regards,Jim
