February 26, 201016 yr Hi there,I have been doing some background work on setting up Fly! II and have just ordered a copy from Amazon which should arrive in a couple of days.Believe it or not I still have my copy of Fly! which sort of works on my XP Pro 64 bit machine, but what I am really interested in doing is getting the ROTW TBM700 which I have downloaded to work on Fly! II.Here's my questions:1. Is it vital that I buy the 2 DVDs from Fly.Simvol to get the Fly! II working correctly?2. Are they still going, as nothing has been posted on their news updates since 2008? I see that Ken has been on there.3. On their notes released with the TBM700 package, they state that the TBM700 POH can be downloaded from the Socata website. However, this has obviously changed and it is no longer available. Does anyone on here have the TBM700 running and possibly an electronic copy of the old POH that they could email to me?Thanks to all for keeping this forum going, as I think Fly! was a great piece of simulation, I am a professional pilot who found the Malibu set up a real help to me before flying the real thing and I would like to see if the TBM700 can work the same magic as well on Fly! II.CheersSteve
February 26, 201016 yr Hi Steve,I'm at work right now, so I can't access my files on the Socata. As far as your questions:1. No, it's not vital to use the DVD set from Simvol. However, it is a nice set and comes with all patches and many Simvol enhancements, settings, aircraft, scenery, etc. in place. You must own an original Fly!II copy to make it legal. If installing yourself, be sure to obtain all of the patches and get Fly!II running well before adding aircraft like the Socata (one of my favorites!).2. I'm guessing that by POH, you're referring to the original handbook, rather than the manual included with the aircraft by Simvol? I don't know if I ever downloaded the original POH - I'll check my files. I can tell you that the manual included is well done.Hint: A while back, Zane Gard posted an excellent article on the TBM700 for Fly!II here: EADS Socata TBM-700 By ROTW For FlyII. With experience flying the aircraft in the real world, he gave the sim some high marks. Personally, outside of using pitch for taxiing, you'll probably find this simulation even more helpful than the Malibu model. Randall Rocke
February 26, 201016 yr Thanks Randall,Yes, it was finding Zane's article that got me back researching Fly! II again. I will get hold of the two update DVDs but I am currently awaiting an email from the Simvol admins to set me up on their forum. I should be most grateful if you would have a check for a POH and I will try the Simvol members too, if I have no luck here.Judging by previous posts, it does sound a little problematical getting it all up and running, but hopefully some help from the old hands on here will be forthcoming if needed. I often find that getting to grips with the nitty gritty of simulation is far harder than flying a real aeroplane itself! :( Many thanks,Steve

I checked my files and unfortunately, I do not have the POH manual you are referring to. I, like Randall - find the pdf included in the download to be more than adequate. I have encountered no problems on XP (or Win7 as I now run that) with the aircraft. You do want to get the panel fix which fixes the CTD when switching navigation source. Unfortunately, that fix was only maad(e for the original release and the French military version. I manually made changes to the USA plane (N785BN). :( Many Cheers!! ___________________________ Kenneth E Wood Jr 🌪️🌩️ ex AG1, USN (14yr Vet) Weather Foecaster
February 27, 201016 yr No luck on the POH - it's hard to believe that a PDF version isn't posted somewhere? As far as the panel fixes, I have them for both aircraft versions. I think it was Zane who originally put them together. Randall Rocke
July 24, 201015 yr No luck on the POH - it's hard to believe that a PDF version isn't posted somewhere?Yesterday I found the chapters of TBM700 POHhttp://www.smartcockpit.com/plane/socata/TBM-700/Greetings Werner
