  1. Don't forget those speakers! I am soooo famous in Aisa! But yeah, I shouldn't have sold the "company" ... 🙃
  2. Naw - Just need for it to rain hard is all... clean that windscreen right up! LOL
  3. Hi Randall, Similar to LarryG with Win 10 version - but nVidia GTX1080Ti 8GB & latest drivers, i7 8700k, 32GB RAM 500GB SSD, etc. Not sure what I may have done, but I run in Full Screen, and with a 24 inch monitor, that's huge! So I suppose one needs to ask the basics - what video card/drivers updated? What size monitor? This is a screenshot of my main monitor: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cr1qh949cuhfuh9/Vector%20GPS%20maps%20open.jpg?dl=0 Here is my Fly.ini graphics section to compare to... 4. Jim was a one of kind - especially when it came to helping those of us in need with CTD's and figuring out their causes. Jim, you are sorely missed already! Sincerest condolences to his family. Kind regards,
  5. QUOTE: "Has anyone had any success in getting "Fly! II" to run in Windowed Mode? I see no option in the menus, nor the INI file. ALT + ENTER doesn't do anything, nor does adding "-w" or "-window" in the shortcut properties." Unfortunately, "windowed mode" was never implemented for Fly! II. QUOTE: "I'm also hoping to find Terramodel 2.1, which I think works with the original "Fly!". I have the 2K special edition, and it's very good -- however not having the ability to add scenery is going to be a bit of a letdown." Okay. I couldn't find my file of TerraModels, but - if you go into the Library main page and click on the Extended Search button, then in the box marked Author, type in Allen Kriesman and you'll find the TerraModels files. The TerraModels 2.1 file is the Texture Pack. Now I honestly cannot remember if it worked with Fly! II since TRI had revamped the scenery display routines. But I do think Taxiway did, and Wayne Roberts was the Go to guy on their usage in the day. 🙂 Cheers,
  6. Hi Jenna! Very good to see you are still around! True, there are still s few of us that pop in here from time to time. I try to check here a couple times a month at very least. I still have Fly! II installed (hard to load up Fly!2K now on my latest Win10 platform - vid card harder to figure out now), but Fly! II works marvelously. I wax nostalgic to fly the Seawind every so often as I never have been able to find anyone willing to attempt to convert it over to FSX. Have to say Rich was highly forward thinking - in that the sim didn't rely/need to be in the Windows Registry. I have my last original load on a backup (14.3 GB) and just have to copy the one folder to main drive (if I so choose ;-) ) and off I go! I too, am watching keenly the development of MSFS 2020 - but unless I get cable or fiber *unlimited* internet access - I most likely won't be able to enjoy it as thoroughly as I'd like. Hope you had a good 2019 and will have an even better 2020! Cheers, Ken
  7. Wishing all Fly! er's a Very Happy Christmas and a great 2020!
  8. Hi Starrfoxx, You may or may not be aware of this but back around nearly 10 yrs ago, AVSIM System and Library was viciously hacked and subsequently many files were lost throughout the library. Although AVSIM was able to recover quite an amount of files, the FLY! and Fly! II stuff were hit by this quite badly. In attempting to help reconcile this, many of us tried to upload missing files we happened to have. AVSIM Library Managers - for copyright reasons - wouldn't permit this **unless** one were able to get positive proof from the original creator of missing file. Soooo... Many authors were no longer available by their accounts nor given emails, and what few were either uploaded their creations or provided positive proof to someone who had those creations backed up. Now, I have the original Fly!2K set which **Should** have included with it the original TerraScene and Sky! programs on its CDs. WINDOWED MODE Because Fly!, Fly!2K and Fly! II were from the late 90's to 2001, none were designed for "Windowed mode" as WIndows 95/98/Millennium Ed. (as far as I recall) didn't offer this feature. You might search through the forum here on such topic, but I am fairly certain there will not be an answer. 😞 I MAY have TerraModels, but since my external backup HDD took a fall to the floor last year, I have been unable to access / recover any files. But I will search through what backup CDs I still have and see if I can be of help there. Also, a couple of "tools" from ROTW should still be available from their website. Sceneries and aircraft still were last time I checked. Cheers, Ken
  9. Thank you, Dan. Did find a topic from 2016 on this same issue dealing with P3D.but again - no answers hence restarting the thread. Kind regards,
  10. Okay Dan. Explain this then, please. I deleted the patched Base pkg, rebooted, then reloaded the original Base pkg sans the latest patch - and everything works fine. This would include using FSUIPC for axis/button/switches control and Dyn Lgts. Now, I load PMDG patch for the base pkg with nothing else being changed, the gear up problem reappears. Without FSUIPC, gear up problem. I did not load in the Logitech drivers for the Flight Yoke system - just the Thrustmaster T-rudder driver. Am using whatever MS dwlds per quite a few "suggestions" between Forums and U-tubers for the Yoke system. Know this is a different sim system, but FSX:SE version with patch runs fine with the latest patch. Soooo... scratching head on this. I just uninstalled Base pkg, rebooted and reloaded again the Original dwnld Base pkg - and hey hey - all works again. So I will make the conclusion that v4.3 broke something that PMDG was trying to fix with their latest patch hence the issue I am having. Kind regards,
  11. I can honestly say that on V4.3 and the latest update to the NGX, I am encountering this freeze/lock up problem every time I take off. I always start in P3D at a gate with engines running. I shut down the engines after the "setup countdown" so as to do my Virt. Airline / GSX stuff. I can taxi fine, but come take off and raising gear, the sim stutters a few times - like way too many textures trying to load in - then freezes. I can do the gear thing and have tried the clicking on the screen(s), but no luck getting back into the flight. My system is i7 8700k, 32gb RAM with an EVGA GTX 1080i 11GB, 1TB SSD drive and a 4TB HDD.; Logitech (Saitek) Flight Yoke System, extraa throttle quad; Thrustmaster T Flight Rudders. This is a new computer, only a week old. I use nearly all ORBX products, from the airports to the most all LC, Regional and Global scenery textures, FTX Vector. Latest FlyTampa All are up to date - spent nearly a week reloading it all 😀. I do not use the HDR or the dynamic lighting at this time. At first I was and the problem began right after the update, so I turned off HDR and Dyn Ltg to see if t hat was it. Don't know if the above will help. Have searched through the Forums for possible fix, but only found a similar topic from Aug 2016. Right now it appears only recourse seems to be uninstalling and re-installing the 737 and not do the update. Kind regards,
  12. Hi Flesland, Please note the Forum rules: They ask that you (must) sign your messages with your full name. Short answer: No. You most likely need to log into your account and re-download the installers so they can find V4.3 more easily. The Base package is at v1.20.8885. Kind regards,

    Obituary: Eric Ernst

Saddened to hear this news. Eric was far too young to leave us. I still today recall using his FS98 panels. My most sincere condolences to his family and close friends. Ken Wood former Naval Weather forecaster and avid FS simmer
  15. Hi Randall, That would be helpful, if it won't be too much trouble, especially as it will be some time before I can afford to try a recovery of the broken external backup drive. Cannot recall precisely, but think TerraScene came with Fly!2K and will check that once I am back to SE Georgia (currently doing finishing preps to get Father's house on the market). Thank you! Cheers Ken
  16. Wow... Most ANY update would only help, Randy. If you feel like ever uploading your DB, am sure what few of us left still using Fly! II would greatly appreciate it. I myself should package up my KPUJ- Paulding Northwest Atlanta (very basic still) airport and upload it. Since I "broke" my one external drive, I lost some of my Fly! II tools - namely TerraModels. These newer computers - even the CD/DVD drives don't always work with older burned CDs. Would the DB require prepping for DEXimport, or just needs cataloging of what it entails? Know the woes with video cards. My GTX650 sometimes has problems "reading" the graphics from the TerraModels file for buildings and will crash the sim. But past that, Fly! II runs and looks fantastic! And, apologies for missing this last post. AVSIM should be sending me an email when anyone posts in any of the Fly! forums, but hasn't been. Plus, am down to the final phase of getting the parents' house on the market (i.e. getting it emptied). Hearing that Atlanta is a sellers market at the moment, and hope its true, as only have a couple months of mortgage money left! Ah, well... <grin>. Hope this finds you well! Cheers, Ken
  17. I don't usually have an issue when in VNAV climb - just ALT HOLD. Strange, that. Likewise - no issues with the triple 7 at all. I keep coming back to Fly! II since all the latest sceneries / liveries are all 4096, and my poor GTX650 cannot handle the 4096mb stuff well at all. Especially when on wireless (due to location of my room versus Modem/Gateway location). Hindlers my VirtAirline flight logging as the wireless cuts off when the computer hits a certain temp (above 77 deg C). <sigh> Now if only we could get someone to update the navaids / runways, etc. and bring her to a more current representation of today's navaids... As that would be very labor intensive, 'tis but a pipe dream... Cheers! Ken
  18. Wishing all my fellow Fly!ers a very Happy New Year!
  19. Belated Merry Christmas and a good new year to all!
  20. Hi Ian! Thanks for that update. I can confirm that indeed Fly! II is running under latest version of Windows 10. Since I know we are a very small minority - especially with this simulator being 16 years old - would like to think that any of us who sent in reports to Microsoft about this particular issue were listened to. I will say that I sent in reports with each preview build, and all "crash reports" for the sim. So either someone listened, or we simply "Lucked Out". Best regards!
  21. Hi Randall ! It has been too long, once again. I flew with the 757 the other week. About the only issue I have with it in Fly!II is when on autopilot leveled out at chosen FL, it tends to "oscillate" in altitude - pitching up/down with about 120-200 feet rise/drop from set AP flight level. FSBuild does great for FP stuff, unless one really likes to hand input the route (hehehe). Now, I don't do a whole lot of flying the "tubeliners" (Seawind is still my most favorite, as you might well imagine), but shoot a couple questions and I'll see if I have a possible answer for you. Who knows? Maybe Rob himself might pop in and try to answer from memory! I won't compare it to say PMDG's FSX 737NGX series, but for a 16 year old sim and what - 15.5 yr old produced aircraft, PMDG's 757/777 for Fly! II still helped to set the benchmarks for all others to live up to, IMHO. Cheers!
  22. G'day all! Not sure why I am not receiving notifications of posts in any of the Fly! / Fly!II forums (being signed up to "Follow" these forums), or I might have responded earlier. I can attest to the fact that Fly! II will not work under Windows 10. I can run it fine under Windows 8.1 with latest nVidia drivers and DX10, but latest drivers and Win10 - nope, nada. I have even tried to install earlier DX 9 or 8 but to no avail. DX8 appears to not work with 64-bit systems, and DX9 complained about "newer version installed" and always halts the install. So it would appear to be an issue with DX11. Have tried on both desktop and laptop but no luck. Took the desktop back to Win8.1. Of course, during that, my backup HDD to a small drop and the motor is ruined. All my Fly!II files were on there as well as a near 20GB of Fly!II fully decked out with TS scenery backup. Thankfully I still have TerraScene and the data disks, but these latest DVD drives don't always read the older CD/DVDs. Ah, well. Trust all are doing well! Cheers!
  23. Would anyone be able to do a livery for the Skywest / Alaska Airlines for the Wilco E-Jets V2 Embraer 175? Just discovered they operate a flight from KOKC to KSEA with the livery found on the picture from FlightAware (Skywest flight 3427 KOKC-KSEA). Tail number for this aircraft is N171SY. Many thanks in advance!
