  1. Sorry for the time in responding on this. I have both S3Dxport3.zip and S3Dxport4.zip in my files. Message me with info if either of these are what you are looking for. Without Chris Wallace's direct permission, am unable to re-upload to the library. Cheers, Ken
  2. In fact it was the 757, followed by the 767: Precision Manuals Development Fly! Airliner Series 757-200 v1.0 - 12/17/99 Fly! Airliner Series 767-200/300 Add-on for 757-200ER Owners Copyright © 1999-2000 Precision Manuals Development Group They followed up with the release of the 757 and the 777 for Fly! II : PMDG AIRLINER SERIES 757-200 V2.14 Build 09MAY02 VERSION 2.14 FLY!2 AIRLINER SERIES 777-200IGW V2.11 Build 27AUG01 VERSION 2.11 I still use these aircraft to this day as I am a diehard Fly! / Fly!II enthusiast.
  3. I can say that under Win 10 TP P3D V2.5 does in fact work - but my nVidia GTX650 suffers with the beta driver from nVidia. Within an hour or so of flying the GPU is heating up and the fan kicks into high speed (noisy); and does cause lockups in the sim to point of having to reboot my machine (running on slower i5 processor (locked 3.40GHz - not able to OC). nVidia Inspector Tweaks included for FSX/P3D V1.x all seem to go for SLI tandem , thus do nothing in my case. Win 10 itself does not appear to be the culprit. nVidia has released only the one beta driver version (I check for updates nearly every day), and I will assume P3D V2.5 simply does not like my GTX 650 (re: not powerful enough for the graphics). Heck - I even have heating issues with Sims 3 for the kids, whether or not using the nVidia Inspector tweaks or Global settings provided. So IMHO Win 10 won't be the issue - rather the video drivers. Since you have updated your video card you more than likely should have little issues other than the full DX 12 compatibility - that will be dependent upon LM.
  4. Sending heartfelt condolences and appreciation to Tom's immediate and extended family. I cannot find words to do justice to how deeply this affects me. I just know Tom will be soaring high above and watching over us all. Gob Bless the Allensworth Family and everyone associated with AVSIM. With Respect and bowed head...
  5. Having been with AVSIM practically since it's inception, I have watched all the wonders and pitfalls that have crossed this community's path. Still, when news of this nature comes to the forefront, it always leaves me dumbfounded and asking "Why this person?" As aptly stated in so many posts prior to mine, I can only add my voice of thanks to you, Tom - for bringing AVSIM to life and keeping it going through all the turmoils - and add my prayers and blessings to you and your family in this final challenge. Like Richard Harvey, you'll be fondly remembered for your courage in the face of adversity, and for the advancement of our flight simming hobby. May you - like Rich, soar with the Eagles and Angels alike. Smooth Skies!
  6. To all in the Fly! Forum, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New year! Ken
  7. Hello fellow Fly!ers, Been very quiet here, but thought I would let you know that the english version of volEdit by Didier Rigault (ROTW) is now back in the library under development category. Didier was kind enough to provide me permission to upload the file, and any others that might be missing and not available on the ROTW site. So, if there is something Didier provided but is not here, let me know - if I have it I will post it back to the library. Cheers!
  8. Was going through some of the library files on TerraScene area many of us had done and of course was reacquainted with Randall Rocke's efforts to supply new shapefiles from the 2000 Tiger census info. So checked out my old link and redirected to the Census website for Tiger shapefiles. Low and behold - there is new 2013 files available! Soooo... am thinking while I am unable to work I may redo my Atlanta, Kings Bay sceneries (areas I frequent most right now) and maybe restart my Oklahoma and Puget Sound efforts with the updated roads, rails, etc. All I have to do now is get to my files so I can re-read Randall's instructions on the use of the shapefiles! LOL Hopefully I can also remember just how to use TerraScene!!! Thought if anyone else in the old group is around and wishing, they might like to know about the new data. If anyone is interested and still has Fly! II loaded with TerraScene as well, just download one of Randall's update files mentioning the Tiger Census 2000 files for the correct method of inserting the shapefiles into TerraScene for rendering new, updated sceneries. Thankfully I have an extra computer available to do the renderings!
  9. In Win7, did you set Fly! II to run under Administrator rights and turn UAC off? Also, I found in some cases if I were to run Fly! II under WinXP compatibility mode for Service Pack 2, I had less problems. I run FLy! II on its own HDD with all scenery on same drive, so I've not really needed the feature. Might give above a try if you have not yet and see if that helps. Can always try Win98 compat mode, too! Cheers! Ken
  10. Hi Randall, I still occasional issues under Win8 with Fly! II - namely video issues. Seawind for instance, with the 2D panel (*STILL* trying to work on a 3D version after all these years!) loves to cause flashing with this GTX650 I have. I may yet head back to Win7 as it seems more stable for my setup of Fly! II. What loss of controls have you experienced under Win7? I never really noticed much as long as I run everything under Administrator rights. Trial and error with the Compatibility modes from Properties tab tend to smooth some things over (such as video display). At Simvol, you can post in all forums in English. For topics in French I use Reverso Translation website which does a nice job. Likewise, I should get off my duff and upload a couple of sceneries I've done for Fly! II. Runway fixes for 4J6 (my nearest airport) and I added KPUJ up in my old county. It is just trying to get things looking good with Terra Models. Will have to go back and do some tweaking and hope to have something decent soon. To ensure I get the correct scenery files, et. al. will most likely have to reload from scratch on the older computer and then can ensure I have all the right files. Best regards,
  11. Good to see you stopping in, Randall. Yes, it has been very quiet in here as most stopping in are looking for files AVSIM no longer has due to the Hack attack. See the occasional post for help with render / vcf files, but sadly very little going on in here. Hope your holidays were good! Best regards,
  12. Hi Richard, Will need more information from you... what is your computer operating system and type of graphics card? Will help to know this in order to help you figure out where the issue is. Thanks!
  13. We're in luck, Dominique! It was for Fly! II and I do have an intact zipfile on hand. Will see what I can do over the next couple days... Cheers, Ken
  14. Hi Dominique! Happy New Year! Was the scenery for Fly! or Fly! II? I'll go through my files and if I have the right one, I'll refer theLib staff to this post and see if they will let me upload it. Cheers, Ken
  15. To all fellow Fly!ers and Sim enthusiasts - Wishing all a wonderful and safe Holiday season and an even better 2014! Ken
  16. Hi Manos, Apologies for the delay in answering. Unfortunately - due to the Avsim Hack a few years ago, many files were lost and the Fly! Series was among those hardest hit. Nearly all Fly! / Fly!2k files were lost and a good majority of the Fly! II files. As many of the developers of those files have moved on and no longer have valid email addresses it is very difficult to find them and ask them to / or ask for permission to re-upload those files. Regrettably those files are virtually lost forever.
  17. Hi Wayne! Long time, my friend! Yes, I have Fly!II working in Windows 7 (64-bit). I am not even using Compatibility mode. The only bad thing with these newer video cards/monitors (am now using a 21 in monitor) is working out the render.ini to work decently. That plus these newer monitors - though they can support the 1024x768 format - stretches the display so the planes look elongated. This of course is due to the fact Fly!II was developed only to the 1024x768 display size. Panel wise I have had some success at using my Photoshop and re-sizing the panels on Seawind to work better witht he 1920x1080 format but results are still somewhat skewed display. With the nVidia GTX 650 card I have I easily see FPS in the 100+ range. As an FYI - Fly!II also runs under Windows 8 and 8.1. As always, some issues may develop depending upon the computer rig being used, And Win8/8.1 has Compatibility Mode available, though I did not find a need to use it. Fly!2K will work also under Win7 but you most certainly have to really work at tweaking the VCF file (loading it is more difficult as the installer is not fully recognized but there is a work-around). So far I have not had much luck at getting it to work under Win8/8.1. Could be that it is due to fact that I am running it directly from my Fly!II dedicated HDD (i.e. not installing it - just running the exe file) - same with Fly!II but I have no problem there. So something to consider is if you have Fly!II already installed on a HDD and set the way you wish, you *Should* be able to run it without any re-installs. This was something I always remembered Rich as saying - Fly!II was NOT dependent upon a Windows Registry entry. So I use an external HDD (350GB for my Fly!II and Fly!2K setups. Saves a lot of hassles, let me tell you!! LOL I have most utility programs for Fly!II and Fly!2K either on my ext HDD or backup CDs so if there is something anyone needs just let me know via PM and I will see if I have it available. Cheers and a good Holiday to All! Ken
  18. Well, with the financial difficulties most of us are in currently, it would be difficult to bring Fly! Developers back and keep it going. With no availability of the original Fly! II software it becomes even more a mute point. Cannot bring new Fly!er's into the fold. Fly! Legacy works from an updated set of coding, so one would need to pour through what the ROTW gents have been doing and see what files Fly! Developers has that remain relevant to the current incarnation. If the entire knowledgebase were intact and had more than we currently do available here, it might still be plausible. For someone like myself - a non-programmer / coder - well... Now if it has good information for the setting up / tweaking the render.ini and such, it might be something to still consider down the road - or take and place such info into new FAQs and post them here. Such as getting Fly! II to work correctly with the newest computer stuff (such as the nVidia GTX 650) - that would be beneficial. I do think it is something to consider, but just may not economically feasible for the time being. Thoughts? Cheers, Ken
  19. True, so many of the "old crew" have moved on to other things / sims. Leen de Jaeger (sp?) is still around in other forums for repaints - see posts from him from time to time. Roger Mazengarb is about from time to time, as is David Sandburg (infoMetar developer). I monitor Fly! II Forum for the odd question or offer suggestions for missing files (courtesy of the AVSIM hack). That more than anything IMHO has pretty much killed off Fly! II's usefulness - lack of support files. Fortunately I have quite a few files saved over the years from the original Fly! / 2K and Fly! II so I am set (grin) - but as I cannot find majority of the original authors, am unable to upload any for restoration to the Library. Still nothing from Steve, so am guessing he's moved on as well. Cheers, Ken
  20. To date no word back from Steve. My email did not bounce back, but no response. For Fly! Legacy, The install is straight forward. I have not encountered any problems with the install. Still many issues remain with flight dynamics and weather, et. al. I still encounter a few glitches with my joystick controls, but overall the sim is coming along nicely. The sim is compatible with the older Fly! II sceneries and airports, but not the aircraft. So for the time being you are limited to Legacy's Cessna. The ROTW team is continuing to improve the sim itself, and the high res cockpit is really good. Legacy runs on my new computer whereas Fly! II does not do well (doesn't seem to like my GTX650). Although I would not say it is up to par yet with Fly! II, Legacy *is* worth checking out and playing around with. You may be able to help find further bugs and advance the development! Cheers, Ken
  21. I've got two and have sent a message to both to see if they are active and if Steve will reply. If he does I will check and see if I can pass along your request. I used to be in contact with him on Facebook, but appears he deactivated his account. Cheers, Ken
  22. G'day Roger! Long time, Mate! I have the S3dexport version 3 and 4, but cannot recall if it went to 3DSMax or Truespace. the file extension is .dle on the file.I would think if it were a TRI produced item you are referencing, it would have been within one of the update patches. Cheers, Ken
  23. Not to mention that the "gusty wind" condition can be triggered by the known weather bug in FSX simply from the variable wind direction " 280V340" - i.e. wind direction shifting more than 30 degrees (in this case 60 degrees) from the average 310 degrees direction. Also note - surface wind speed of 10 knots at surface, whereas by 3000 feet the wind forecast is 23 knots. Using FSUIPCs wind smoothing feature for wind direction and/or speed helps, but will not totally solve the issue there.
  24. Season's Greetings to all Fly! friends! Wishing the very best for all of you in 2013! Ken
  25. hehehe - I always found the XP series to be a bit too difficult to handle with just a joystick and a mouse - not to mention back in the days I had some interest in it, it was 80USD! Granted price is now down quite a bit - but I still prefer my Fly!II and honestly - the <coff, coff> "Other Sim" is not too bad - especially with the Orbx sceneries/airports installed. Just wish I could find someone to help me port Seawind from Fly!II to it. That SDK leaves MUCH to be desired for a numbskull weatherman like me to work out. <sheepish grin>. Many cheers to all Fly!ers still around! Ken
