"First, let me apologize for the ignorance of this post. I am completely new to the AvSim world and looking for help. I have read the tutorials section of the forum, but haven't found what I need to help me get started.I fly a turbo-normalized 1975 V35B Beechcraft Bonanza. My goals are as follows:- Create a virtual representation of my aircrafto Replicate the panel and all of its functionalityo Replicate its in-air performance (PAC chart)- Pre-fly trips o Simulate weather (real-time possible?)o Preview topography for pilotage purposes- Increased situational awareness & proficiencyo Participate in AvSim ATC communicationso Simulate in-flight emergencies- Give back to the AvSim community as much as possibleBasically, I need a mentor. I'm starting from ground zero. I don't know if Flight Simulator or X-Plane would be best for my purposes. If there was an 'AvSim for Dummies' I would gladly read it. For what it's worth, I'm using a new iMac desktop.Mods, if I haven't posted this in the appropriate place, thanks for your patience. Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction or for your help. Kind regards,Paul"Hi Paul..Your goals are the same as mine. I owned a 1962 Debonair for 11 years and made with the help of others a 98% faithful rendition and it served me well from fs2002 to fs9.You will find making an aircraft takes a huge amount of time-I figure (and I was only 1 of three that did my aircraft at the time) it took me many thousands of hours and about a year and 1/2-and I only did the cockpit part. I will never do it again, and prefer to leave it up to the professionals. You will find especially with fsx now, teams of persons are needed to make a high quality aircraft..Probably easiest for you is to start with the Carenado F33 that is coming out soon (check their forum here). Then modify it (get " fspanelstudio" ) -the easiest way to modify instrumentation. You will probably want to purchase some of the high quality real working avionics from reality-xp.com.Then get in the airfile and start tweaking to get the kind of performance you need. You can also lobby the developers to make an aircraft like yours or even based on yours. I am still waiting for a B55 Baron that I currently fly-and I lobby all the time (I got close to a developer doing it once and then he bailed)! Right now I just use a somewhat similar aircraft (right now the Just flight Duchess/Carenado Seneca/Real Air Duke) and stay in a permanent state of frustration. I loved it when I had my Deb!As far as the parts after "pre-fly trips"-all of that is possible right now. Sounds like you want to use the sim the way I do.You will find the avsim folks very helpful-don't be bashful about asking for help....and welcome!
