Blocky textures

Featured Replies

Hey guys, when having a flight im getting blocks in the terrain and when flying over water. They are in the distance but there getting on my nerves as it has just started to happen :( . I did have tileproxy installed but didnt use it so uninstalled it. It made me wonder if this was the cause but not sure. Is it something to do with sight distance....oh i dont know, also when panning from vc/2d there is a delay where i see these blocks, light brown over terrain, light blue over water, any ideas guys???Regards,Chris

I don't think it's the cause... I get the same effect at (rare) times and haven't ever used Tileproxy. I get a similar problem with AI livery when cycling through the local AI with Ctrl+W. I never took muck notice of either effect, just put them down to textures being slow to load. It's a bit patronising, I know, but have you done all the usual stuff like cleaning & defragging & putting all your scenery addons in a dedicated folder etc etc. There's a good utility around called FSTscenery.exe which may prevent some odd errors, though possibly not this one, see the following for a link: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=276728A chap called NickN has done a lot of work on optimising scenery etc. He gets the odd mention here and a google search for 'nickn fs9' pulls his stuff up.

This sounds like the exact same problem I am having; see my post and tell me what you think. http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=278111
Yes but not as severe over land its like that over water for me. I recently installed Kaspersky and noticed it was quite demanding so just un-installed and going to see if anything has improved.Just eliminating!!Very annoying
