Ian, does W7 have a "safe mode" you could try?Otherwise it's back to W6; or 5.I have FSX installed in W7 but haven't gotten to TP yet. Should it not install for some reason, W7 IS history.Show us the way - find the answer! Others have made it work.Loyd

Thanks for getting back so quickly Loyd.Didn't expect a reply for a while so carried on looking for suggestions, then I found Mark's post suggesting Readydriver plus.That worked, so I guess I didn't properly disable driver signing.I'm just about to load it up having disabled UK Real Scenery but left the mesh switched on, so in a few moments, I'll see what it's like.I've got lod_radius set to 8.5 so loading is going to take a while.ps, I've written this reply and done a couple of other bits and pieces and it's still loading. maybe lod 8.5 is going to be too high - used 5.5 on my previous system.Cheers, IAN
