March 13, 201016 yr I've been getting a warning sometimes when I open ASE. I never got it when using ASA, and I even tried setting my computer clock back a minute, and still got the message. It says: "Over 3000 data reports are being ignored due to their date/time stamp being too old. Please check your computer clock - it may be set into the future. You will need to restart ASE after changing your computer clock. This message will be surpressed for the remainder of this session."Any thoughts?Bill
March 13, 201016 yr Hi,Is the time, date and year correct on the computer clock? ASE does check more closely now, because this was causing a problem in ASA, but with no error message.
March 13, 201016 yr Author It does seem to speed up, so how close does it have to be? When I got the message it was about a minute fast, so I backed it up a minute 30 seconds, and still got the message.Bill
March 14, 201016 yr Author Yes, but not at any great rate. I've never checked it to see how much, but over a month it's maybe a minute fast. It switched over to daylight time today just fine, but it's not like it's tuned in to the atomic clock. I'll try to set it now, and see just how much it changes in a day.Bill
March 15, 201016 yr Author Humm, a bit more than I thought, it gained 25 seconds in 14 hours, so I guess I need to reset it each morning before I use ASE right? By the way I nearly always use Historical Weather. Does it affect that as well?
March 15, 201016 yr I am now having the same problem. This did not occur before the time set to daylight savings. My clock was about 10 seconds off when I checked it against my atomic clock. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
March 16, 201016 yr Barn,Is the historical weather always past weather?Woodhick,This is the only report of this anywhere. Are you still seeing the error? The servers all switched over correctly Saturday night.
March 16, 201016 yr Jim, it will be a couple of days before I get to fly again. A thought here: Is this the same thing I saw all along in ASA as a line item as the opening screen showing the load up progress when first opening ASA? I used to see a line that said something like "3000 stations not reporting" of something like that.FWIW, I use historical on-line wx for all my flights. I fly early in the a.m. (real time) but set my flights throughout the day, thus historical works for me. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
March 16, 201016 yr Author Yes, I always use past Historical Weather, usually just a day or to ago. Because of time restraints I tend to take 3 or 4 days to complete a flight in 30 to 45 minute segments, so I'm saving and reopening these flights. I'll start lets say at 2000z, and pick it up the next time at 2035z etc, but always the same date I initially picked. I restart ASE with the date and time I stopped last time, and check "sim time". It works great as far as I know.Bill
March 16, 201016 yr Hi All,Can we say whether this is a red pop up window that reports this or a line or two in the main AS window while things are loading.
March 16, 201016 yr I am getting the red pop-up window. I only got the line item notice in ASA. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
March 17, 201016 yr Jim, my ASE started up without incident or warning today. I'm going to let this ride a while before getting in panic. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
March 17, 201016 yr Author Hi All,Can we say whether this is a red pop up window that reports this or a line or two in the main AS window while things are loading.Yes, I got the red pop up window. In fact I got it this morning, and yes my darn computer was about a minute fast. Does this affect Historical Weather?Bill
