March 15, 201016 yr What is the cure for the error message that says something like "Invalid path to scenery Area 115?" I started getting this after installing the "Utah Complete" add-on. Any advice is appreciated.Keith
March 15, 201016 yr Let's see if I can do this by recall?Area 115 is the non-Acceleration Addon Scenery folder, correct? Some installation packages (self-installers) will remove the folder where the scenery is installed. I'd bet my last Lotto dollar that's the case here. If so, open Windows Explorer and navigate to your FSX installation. Check to see if you have a \FSX\Addon Scenery folder, with the \scenery and \texture folders underneath. You don't, that's why you're getting the error. In Explorer make a new folder structure like this\FSX install location \Addon Scenery \scenery \textureYour message should now go away. One piece of advice, never, ever install into the Addon Scenery folder. Make a new folder for the addons that you want to install. Easier to track, toggle on and off and then there is the whole thing about FSX not always recognizing files in the \Addon Scenery location.

Any advice is appreciated.KeithYou could try a utility, FSTscenery, created by Steve Greenwood. You may download it from his site: http://home.earthlink.net/~smgreenwood/Click on Resources and then on "Utility to sort and renumber scenery.cfg layers"That tool might help you to locate errors in your scenery.cfg file. Make a backup up of your scenery.cfg file.If you have any of the FTX texture add ons, you might try the "Validate Scenery.cfg" found in FTX Central (Menu: Tools, Scenery Library Configuration).
March 16, 201016 yr Author Thanks for the suggestion. On checking, I found that the Addon Scenery file was structured as you indicated it should be, so that wasn't the problem. However, I deselected Addon Scenery in the Scenery Library and the error message has not returned. :( Let's see if I can do this by recall?Area 115 is the non-Acceleration Addon Scenery folder, correct? It should be there with scenery and texture subfolders. It is normally created when you install FSX but it is empty initially. Many people place their addon airport and/or scenery enhancements in that folder but it is not necessary to do so - they can be placed almost anywhere. If you do not find such a folder (addon scenery) then you can either create one (with the two subfolders) and activate it once again in the Scenery Lubrary dialogue or just delete the entry entirely from the dialogue.Doing all that will just help keep your FSX setup tidy.
