March 19, 201016 yr Commercial Member You're right. I don't customize my weather also. I use real-world weather, and in this case, I get surprised sometimes by sudden high-low visibility changes when descending. In fact, I don't even use the "real world weather" because of the realism factor. I just don't like to spend my time using creativity to set up weather. If there was a button called "Surprise-me!" instead of "real world weather" I would use it too, as long as it didn't make it snow in Brazil, hehehe...I wonder if REX or ASE weather engines correct this issue.I don't know how well, or not, REX or ASE deal with this, but I have to say for the 30 seconds or so it takes to set up a weather theme that correctly deals with low level visibility, I find it's worth it. In fact, there's nothing to stop anyone from setting up a few of their own weather themes and saving them as flights with a description of the weather.Personally (and certainly for anyone flying in Europe) the most important realism factor in the weather is visibility and I'd say every single time I use real world weather in FSX, it give totally wrong visibility.
