Featured Replies

Hi,Do you recall what pressure showed up in FS?

Hi Jim,29.92, as usual.

Hi,In FS, is the B key still set to Altimeter (reset)? With FS and AS running is the Weather theme set to User Defined?

I can report problems with Altimeter settings in ASE as well. Generally when I enter the sim with ASE running the correct alt settings is realized however when select a different location or airport throguh the FSX menu 2992 is always the alt setting.

Hi,On the weather map screen in FSX, or in the cockpit itself. We do not suggest looking at the Weather screen in FSX as we know there are times when that data is incorrect.

Hi Jim,Thanks for the continued suggestions. Altimeter is still set to the 'B' key, and does work some of the time, as described above. The weather theme in FS when ASE is running does show as User Defined.Over the past couple days, I have continued to test various configurations of FS and ASE in an attempt to isolate the conditions that cause the problem. At this point, it appears to be caused by DWC. Every flight I have done with DWC on has suffered some problem (including, in one flight, the 'reversed winds' described in another thread here). SO FAR, every flight that I have done with DWC OFF has been error free. Altimeter, winds, visibility all render correctly at all stages of flight. I have only done three or four flights with DWC off, so I want to test further before definitely saying it is the faulty element.

I don't want to totally hijack your thread here, but in following along I see that this is quite probably another problem connected to the use of that always guilty culprit known as "DWC". It seems that DWC creates more problems than it solves. I had problems long ago when I enabled DWC which disappeared never to return when I turned it off. Why not simply eliminate DWC altogether from the program?

Apparent on the flight desk altimeter. Furthermore it doesnt seem to be always related to resetting aircraft location from within the GUI. I did a short flight yesterday from KORD to KMDW. Alt setting was correct from KORD at 3027 and indicated the proper field elevation. Upon landing at KMDW I pressed the "B" alt reset key and it reverted to 2992 and the proper field elevation was noted. Somewhere along the line the ALT setting gets reset back to standard. FWIW I dont use DWC and weather settings are off in the registered copy of FSUIPC except for wind smoothing and turb suppression.
