Default 172 engine RPM drop

Rob,So what you're saying is that you like my 'fix'? Not really seeking 'real pilot' opinion, you understand. A real pilot would have one airplane, and would learn all the tiny details sooner than later. Sort of how you know your personal car's capabilities/limitations. Us simmers don't have that much 'time' in the seat of our aircraft. Neither did we get ground or flying school, or ck rides. We just fly and learn as we go. If a 'real' airplane died on me when at idle would scare the heck out of me and I would not fly it until someone checked it out or someone checked ME out. Maybe it was MY fault? (Not holding my mouth right?) And when it comes to the default not being 'all there' then we have no choice but to tweak them. Who's going to do 'mechanic work' on the default ac? Aces? Why would they bother with 'minor' details, like the engine shutting off when on idle and at low rpm and/or high alt (conditions). Nothing mechanical works 'perfect' 100% of the time? And 'giving it a little throttle' so it don't die on you is the same as giving your car a little gas to keep it from shutting off due to lack of fuel flow (gas filter clogged?). Old cars used to have a 'choke' (cable) you pulled out to keep engine going until it warmed up. Not no more.Modern engines are all electronically controled now (with no 'user adjustments' possible). So this 'detail' MS overlooked where your engine shuts off is not really 'major' but it is not 'normal' either. So if there is a 'work around' then I would prefer it be permanent, and not a 'jerry-rigged' 'fix', like with the defective Toyotas. They put a 'spacer' behind the gas pedal. This is NOT a fix because the 'fault' is electronic in nature. But people don't know that.Using your 'game plan' on those Toyotas might be like: 'try pumping the gas pedal' and/or 'try pumping the brake pedal' too, while you're at it' kind of 'fix'. Of course I am being ridiculous and sarcastic. But I am not far off as to the ability/desire for people prefering to avoid the problem by fixing it with their mouth, rather than to admit they screwed up and then fixing it. And if not able to fix it, then making an offer to give you your money back. (I never owned a Toyota). I guess MS would do the very same thing if confronted. Deny deny deny. 'Use at your own risk'. Get new joy. Cha-ching. Update to FSX. Cha-ching. Get new throttle quadrant. Cha-ching. Move up to a faster PC AND Win's 7. Cha-ching. So it's 'business'-nothing personal. The funeral is next tuesday. Ha. CBNapamule

For what it's worth, I'm at idle in the 172 all the time checking AI, spotting, etc. I'm at sea level and sometimes higher, with no adjustments,(unless I'm in Denver or course) and I've never stalled out.
