Dear Everybody,I've just looked around in the forum to see if this problem already happened to someone else but I didn't find anything.I have purchased 747-8i as expansion pack of the 747-400.I got regular ID Code, download the software, then I went in the validation page and inserted all corrected e-mails,ID Code and passowrd and I got the ok to the validation.Then Click on the next button but no install process begun.Simply take back to the windows Desktop.Before buy the expansion I checked the minimun requirements and I should not expect any problemI work with Windows XP.Anyone can help me?Many thanks

First you need to sign with your full name, on all posts in this forum.You didn't mention that you have the 747-400X installed.Did it put a shortcut to the configuration manager on your desktop?

Yes Of course I have B747-400X installed and Yes I have a shortcut of B747-400X configuration manager on my desktop.TksDavide Falzone

Run the configuration manager then start FSX and see if the 747-8i/F is there waiting for you.

I have the same problem.I would open up the 747-400/747-8 Cofiguration Manager and switch to the 747-8 and hit save. I says that the save was successful. Then I open up Flight Simulator X and run the 747-8 but the Virtual Cockpit is still situated far behind the Pilot's seat. Does anyone know the fix for this or am I doing something wrong.Terence Walker

Terence, the configuration manager main purpose is to modify the aircraft configuration file for the -8i different dimensions. The nanny doesn't allow a program to modify files unless you run it with admin security rights (Microsoft never assumed that a single user PC might always be the administrator.. go figure). I've turned off UAC, assigned admin rights to the pmdg folder and subfolders. The windows help explains how to do these things.

No my problem is different.I'm actually not Able to install 747-8if expansion pack.But during these days I tried different things.When I go into the setup of 747-8i,it says to download and install the updated version of 747-400X at V2.10.I did it and updated 747-400X to V2.10 then run 747-8i setup got the validation ok after put CODE and then simpy doesn't ahead with installation.But...Without 747-400X V2.10 I was able to install it, The 747-8f regularly appears in the Choice of Acfts in FSX and it works,but I think it is not the full Expansion package.I mean.The difference could not only sound and of course model.Many thanksDAvide FAlzone

Davide, it sounds like you have it installed otherwise it would not appear in aircraft select list. The install is quick and there are no dialogs after it accepts validation.
