I don't know for sure, but it could be just that a lot of the leg work was done on the original. To re outfit it on floats, wheel/skis, etc. doesn't require a new body, just the undercarriage. Also, the adjustments to the FDE's were fairly easy to do and minor in nature (although no doubt the new contact points would have taken some time). I'm just guessing though.

For me the original C185 (which I like) was the first one I purchased right after the release. And will be the last one! I wish I have waited until this release. I
