Sounds like you guys got your answer before I could get to it. I used the hex editor in finding the string. And the trick is indeed to change it from 39 to 38 so you don't lose the landing lights in the 2d panel mode. I still lose the wing views also when I get rid of the vc and cabin, I'm sure they are tied to it some how.Scott

Scott- the Wing View (Views L or R) does not have any part of the plane such as a Wing. It is simply one of the eight basic FS views. The wing itself is part of the virtual elements and is also deleted when you edit out the virtual artifacts such as window frames etc.Alex Reid

That's what I mean. When I deleted the vc it got rid of the virtual element of the wing in the vc view altogether.Scott
