Saving PMDG 747-8i .dds images from Photoshop

Featured Replies

Dear PeteI have done a lot of livery painting over the years for a variety of aircraft, including some of my own creation and making alterations to correct minor mistakes from other painters. I have done some for the FSX 747-400, but note that the file format and size is quite different for the 747-8i!I have installed the Nvidia dds module on my laptop to work with Photoshop and I am able to load and read the files from the new PMDG 747-8i aircraft, but have not been able to save them in a workable format after editing. (I tried to fix the QF files referred to in my first message, but could not find the correct file settings to save the dds file and have it work in FSX).Can you please send me some explanation for the correct settings to that I get the correct file format and the correct file size when saving the edited dds files? Many thanks,Brian

Brian, Please sign your full name per forum rules, thanks. The answers you seek will be released when the paint kit is released. As for saving, there are a couple different plugins you need to install and you can find them in the 747 paint kit read me as well as in the beginning of the paint tutorial.

Hi DanThanks for the tips and for your exhaustive tutorial - I will read it at length and no doubt will learn a great deal from it. I am installing the additional plug-ins this morning and hope they will make it possible to save the edited QF file in the correct format.Looking forward to the paint kit when it is released!Regards,Brian Robinson
