April 4, 201016 yr If the FMA is displaying HOLD 32000 then you are not in PROF mode. See FMA indications on page AUTO.30.28, this is where you always look if you are asking why it is doing something. The PROF TO 2500 on a second line was simply telling you the next PROF altitude, not that you were in PROF mode.As for the reason, maybe you bumped the ALT knob to set up the ALT HOLD. Pressing it cancels PROF and puts you in hold mode at the target altitude plus or minus a value to permit smooth level off. See AUTO.30.10 Dan Downs KCRP
April 4, 201016 yr after i paset the TOD it stays PROF2500 in purple i dont think that i do what wrong.
April 5, 201016 yr whenever i get that prob i go to the legs page in the FMC and i put the ALT of the UPCOMING waypoint into te A/P and PULL the ALT knob so that i desend before i get to the waypoint.for examplefmc legsCOPES 290/200RBV 290/180i just passed COPES at FL200 so i dial in alt FL180 and i pull the alt knob so when i get to RBV im already at FL180.
April 5, 201016 yr so you mean i should set altittude of upcoming waypoint in MCP and then giht click the altittude knob????
April 5, 201016 yr yup u set the alt of the upcoming waypoint on the MCP and RIGHT click on the ALT knob. Then the A/C should descend to the target alt.
