747-8 model upgrade

Featured Replies

First let me say that I truly appreciate having a "newer" updated 747 to have until the 737 NGX shows up...My question is; will there be any update or upgrade of the 747 model to the actual 748's actual performance and loads?I am not sure if the model is where the changes need occur or if that is done in the aircraft.cfg or both or somewhere else....Just curious... since the plane is flying now and maybe Boeing is getting close to release some figures or maybe "we" have to wait longer until it goes into service?Point is... that I would love to be able to fly the "newest" big Boeing at her new capabilities, weights and performanceNo I am not gonna lose any sleep over this.. nor am I gonna fight countless others [in the forum] who will attempt to speak for the designers, this is just short. simple to the point question.I can remain satisfied with the status quo if need be... however I would jump at the opportunity to have (buy) an upgrade should one become available. Thanks for anyone from PMDG for taking time to answer this question!

PMDG already answered this, don't remember off hand the thread; regardless, there are no near term plans to update the 747 to incorporate the -8i/F performance. There could be a long term upgrade to the Queen but it would be a major effort.

Yeah I sorta remember that, was just wondering if that was a "final statement" on that issue or would they revisit it after the plane flew and/or went into service...Anyhow, thanks for the remind.
