April 8, 201016 yr I completed a tour of the US a year ago or so, and it was a really great experience. Spread it out over a month or two, and zigzagged all over hitting everything I wanted to see.I'm planning a tour of Europe, and I'm looking for suggestions. I pulled a handful of ideas from simtours, and have a few spots I want to hit for nostalgic value, but I could use a few more ideas.Anything with great scenery, great views, handcrafted buildings/monuments/statues/towers in default scenery (I assume UTX and GEX will not take away these things), or anything else that would make a great tour from the air.Any personal favorite spots you guys have?
April 8, 201016 yr Are you planning a VFR or a IFR tour? Or mixed? i7-6700K 4.0Ghz, 32GB RAM, GTX1070 8GB (X-Plane 11, X-Plane 10) i7-2630QM 2.0Ghz, 12GB RAM, GTX560M 3GB (X-Plane 9, FSX, FS2004)

April 8, 201016 yr You might want to grab a copy of 'Around the World in 80 Flights' Avsim review here: http://www.avsim.com/pages/0309/FirstClass/80.htmAlthough aimed at a circumnavigation, ATW's routing is intended to be an educational one rather than the most direct route, and the routing was chosen with the intention of including the nicest and most interesting views and places to go. You do get a pretty nice Lockheed Electra with it, but I'd recommend taking a look at it for the flight plans which come with it, which are really well thought out and ideal for a European tour, since they start in England and then whiz all over the place, so you could simply follow that route, or cherry pick the ones you liked and join them up.Definitely worth a look for this kind of thing, although be warned, I actually did that entire trip in the Lockheed Electra, and that takes a lo-ong time, so I'd recommend doing what I did with it, which is add a few souped-up avionics to it.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 8, 201016 yr Thanks. I'm checking out that European tour and the 80 Flights tour right now.As far as IFR vs VFR, I'm trying to do mostly VFR, although I am planning on taking any long legs (say 300 mi or more), or legs over almost all water in a Learjet and probably IFR.So far I've only come across a few legs that will definitely be IFR and at jet speeds (like Athens to Cairo).
