April 13, 201016 yr Hello,Normally around an airport in FS there is an area which has none of the normal imagery, and it is usually just green, or brown. I downloaded an AFCAD file for LEMD (Madrid) to reflect the expansion, but this is the problem:Directly near the new runways and parts of the airport there are the normal buildings and fields. I wanted to know if it is possible to remove these images and replace them with the usual brown/green areas, and if so, how would I go about doing it?Regards,Michael Jones
April 14, 201016 yr Hello Michael,To extend the airport background, you should use a terrain editing program such as SBuilderX or Airport Design Editor for FS X and SBuilder for FS 9.Also, please read Terrain Design for Flight Simulator X available in the Avsim library:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?&DLID=141643Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
April 14, 201016 yr Hi,Thank you very much for that. I forgot to mention that I was using FS9, is that FSX tutorial still applicable to FS9?Michael
April 14, 201016 yr Also check out these fine Tutorials regarding the use of SBuilder -http://www.scruffyduckscenery.co.uk/tutorials.htmlAn excellent program! :(
April 15, 201016 yr Ok, thanks everyone.I have Sbuilder installed now, but what how do I add/extend the airport background? I guess you have to create a polygon, but what do I have to set the polygon as to turn it into an airport background?Regards,Michael
