Jeff,Very interesting post. Don't get me wrong, with the high resolutions in textures now availible and FSX now beginning to come into it's own, I believe FSX will last for many, many years to come. And seen as we are aware that this is possibly the last release for Flight Simulator, I'm sure all of us enthusiasts will make it last for as long as we need to.At the moment, X-Plane has a stunning outside word, however the aircraft leave much to be desired in many cases. Should that improve over the coming years, I believe X-Plane will become a serious option for simmers and not just a an underused game we've installed to see what it's like. However, I believe PMDG have commented this previously, and said that the SDK is lacking in that systems modeling is far more limited than in FSX.I myself am still yet to harness FSX's true potential in visuals, as are many others. However, once cards such as the GTX285 become the norm, PMDG will be able to fully stretch FSX's boundaries and create even more appealing aircraft, I believe.Right now, we have little choice of what sim to use. I am not a Flight Simulator a really excited user, but currently, that's where all the development is and for many years now, I have stated that I'd be more than happy to move to another platform if there were developers like PMDG on them.
