For all the Concorde Fans !!

On August 2, 2003 I had the honor and priviledge of getting to spend several hours with this magnificent bird. Add to this the fact that it was G-BOAD, the very same plane that set the Transatlantic record. When I thought it could get no better...I get to meet Captain Leslie Scott, Pilot for that and many other flights. He spoke of facts and figures for the plane as well as posing for a picture and signing my Concorde retirement certificate !!. What A day !!The following are just some of the 120 pics I shot in the 3 hours I got to spend with the plane. :)Enjoy !!Bobby**Mods, If this needs to be moved feel free. I just wanted to put it where the greatest number of people could appreciate it.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/27895.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/27896.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/27897.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/27898.jpg

Will post more if wanted when I finish grabbing and going over them all.Bobby

Excellent shots Bobby! Have you flown/worked on Concorde before? If not, what was your impression of the cabin? It's a little narrow isn't it :-) Looks like it was a great day, thanks for posting some shots! Andy

Awsome bro :DWish i had a chance to fly her or get so close to the superb bird !!!CheersStian

He didnt say he flew!

Andy,NO!! Never worked or flown on her before. I work at the NY TRACON and this was an opportunity that I couldn't pass up.First impression was it looks bigger in pictures! lol and yes your right, feels like your standing in a rocket tube. Very narrow. But ya know what, given the chance, I'd fly in a heartbeat. Thanks Andy !BobbyHeres a few more:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28059.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28060.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28061.jpg

Excellent !So those shots are from JFK on the Saturday are they? Next weekend there's a NY bay trip departing JFK on Saturday - should be good fun. If any can make it to view the departure, watch how quick it gets up! It will certainly look like a rocket! :-) Thanks again Bobby. Andy[/font size]

Great shots - I'm insanely jealous. Closest I have got (so far) is watching takeoffs and landings at LHR.BA have been running a competition (in the UK) for 325 pairs of tickets to fly on it before it goes out of service. The draw takes place this week. I and countless thousands of others have entered but as they say - you have to be in it to win it. Bill

Pure class.Maybe it's financially, environmentally, etc inefficient. But it has got what no other current civil airliner has.Probably the last aircraft built to have flair. To all those accountants who prattle on about it's inefficiency - go away and stick a banana up your bottoms.I've still got a slight chance to win the UK lottery and fly in one. If not I'll just continue flying subsonic in 'boring' Boeings and 'anonymous' Airbusses. Just joking for those of you without a sense of humour. I love ALL aircraft.Gavin

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

Gavin,I agree with you but in talking w Mr. Scott, the 7 Concordes that are in the BA fleet use up almost 28% of the Airlines entire annual operating budget !! Pretty amazing when you consider a round trip ticket is up to almost $12,000.I'm with you though. Keep her alive and flying I say.I'm still pinching myself. I've waited since I was 9 and watched the very first flight to get this close to one. And yes it was worth it !Bobby
