May 10, 201016 yr Here's my problem, I can't spool up the aircraft.1, GPU procedure completed2, Engine Shutoff valve switched to OFF (as per patch, External Fuel ON, Pylons selected - SP2 procedure).3, FUEL Booster Pump 2 switched to OFF (more than one position?).4, Starter Switch 1 clicked on and released (more than one position?).Engine only spools up to about 35% but never exceeds that and then shuts down and the pit goes dark.Thinking the problem has to do with step #3-#4 and multiple switch positions.
May 10, 201016 yr I'd start by loading and running FS9 with a default twin-engine plane, like the King Air, then switch to the F-4. Internal settings (like battery off, or mixture at full lean) can carry over and cause problems, especially if the panel does not use those settings.I highly recommend your default startup flight be a default plane (with the battery/avionics switches on an NAV (not GPS) selected) at a default airfield. That way when you first load FS to the "Create a Flight" menu, the default settings have already been applied.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO Here's my problem, I can't spool up the aircraft.1, GPU procedure completed2, Engine Shutoff valve switched to OFF (as per patch, External Fuel ON, Pylons selected - SP2 procedure).3, FUEL Booster Pump 2 switched to OFF (more than one position?).4, Starter Switch 1 clicked on and released (more than one position?).Engine only spools up to about 35% but never exceeds that and then shuts down and the pit goes dark.Thinking the problem has to do with step #3-#4 and multiple switch positions. May 11, 201016 yr Author Note: Item #3 above should read "ON" not "OFF" (Fuel Booster Pump).Oddly,That didn't help. But I have one additional obeservation, once everything is running and engine is spooling at 25% (is that the normal percentage for the air pushed by the GPU?). If I touch the throttle, everything shuts down.Documentation, mentions nothing about Generator 1 & 2 switches which I find strange.

If I remember correctly you have to make sure the generators are running

December 21, 201114 yr Author DieselTen,Thanks, that's it. Manual error. The manual v1.03 under "System Procedures" > "Engine Startup-sequence" > 2) Make sure ENGINE SHUTOFF emergency switch on left console is OFF;Switch is actually "FUEL SHUT-OFF", it needs to be "ON" and guarded. With the Cloud9 aircraft, setting the guard is manual (not auto like some). Finally now I can get it started.
