May 11, 201016 yr Commercial Member MD11 Ferry flight incidentI'm away from my home PC for while so wondering if someone can test a real world FEDEX incident for me. The incident happened at PANC on a two engine ferry flight 'Engine 2 was shutdown' The aircraft was empty except for Ballast when the flight crew advanced the thrust levers for T/O the aircraft rapidly pitched up onto it's tail severely damaging the aircraft. When the investigators tried it in the LVLD sim the same thing happened. The cause was due to the light load and the lack of slight downward thrust normally generated by the #2 engine. I already know that the PMDG MD11 will pitch up onto it's tail if loaded incorrectly but not sure application of thrust also causes a pitching like in the real world. Thanks Rob Prest
May 11, 201016 yr I think that incident has been discussed here before. Here it is. This post was just asking how to retract the center gear while on the ground, but it includes the NTSB report.http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...63&hl=ferry Dan Schultz REX Latitude BETA Team Member https://rexlatitude.com
