May 17, 201016 yr I placed a similar post in the FSX forum. I overlooked this forum where hopefully those of you that are developers might be of help.2D panels are no problem, but 3D Virtual modifications are a new mysterious animal to me. To say that I don't know what I am doing here would be an understatement.Example:The new freeware LuscombeX does not have a 2D panel, but does have a great looking 3D Virtual display. Due to the fact that the "ignition" switches, both left and right will not work imdependently (Closeing one closes both, shutting down the engine), I tried to add the default C172 "Cessna! Starter" gauge so that possibly mags could be checked on runup. All attempts that worked in 2D panel modifications were futile and my gauge never showed up by simple editing. Also all that I get with Panel Studio is a black display with no gauges visable.I think I understand how to replace a gauge in an existing panel gauge location with no problem, but do not know how to add a new gauge to a different panel location. If I understand a helpful comment in another forum, I need to virtually punch a hole in the panel to add a gauge, but I don't know how to do that. If anyone knows of a tutorial or website that gives instruction for 3D Virtual panel modifications, I sure would appreciate the infromation. Thanks:RTH
May 17, 201016 yr Commercial Member A VC isn't a panel. You can't simply add gauges to them to suit your fancy. You can replace existing gauges defined in the VC entries with other gauges, as long as you leave it's x/y and width/height alone as that's hard coded into the 3D model. You can't 'punch holes' into the VC.
