KECP - SID/.STAR For PMDG

Featured Replies

the current airac cycle doesnt have a sid/star for KECP....a brand noew airport set to open on 5-23-2010, for PMDG.i have created one (ATTACHED) and would appreciate any imput/changes.i am wondering about east bound approaches. i made it where you overfly the airport, then turn for the downwind .....or is it acceptable to move the wp for a downwind BEFORE the airport.i assume since the approach wp's are all east of the airport, then the downwind must be east also.this is a complete guess on my part. as i am not a real pilot, i need to know if this is right.this is also based on the afcad i also created. pm me if you want my kecp bgl's, or email me [email protected] me knowx

Hey Joe, having fun learning how to do this? I did but it took awhile.Regardless of direction of arrival, traffic landing ILS 16 will either be vectored by Jacksonville Center to intercept the final course or you will fly the approach starting at a charted IAF such as LAARA.Standard IFR radar traffic patterns use are left and downwind is generally 5 nm from the airport. If you need help understanding standard traffic patterns I suggest that you get a copy of the "bible" the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) available here: http://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/EDIT: Also, you can get lat/lon coordinates for your approach fixes from airnav.com under airspace fixes tab. I don't recommend adding speed constraints to an approach unless they are published.
