Advice on upgrade

Here is my current system:QX9650 GTX295Gigabyte DQ6 mobo4 GB corsair dominator ramWhat I was thinking about is upgrading to this980XNvidia 480Asus Rampage IIINot sure what ram yet.I was wondering if anyone out there has made an upgrade similar to this and what kind of performance increase did you get. This system would be about 2500 bucks and want to make sure it will be worth while. I am wanting more than 10% increase in performance if I am going to dish that kind of money out. Thanks all!

FS9 or FSX? What kind of acft/scenery add-ons? How fast is your quad running now?If you're an FSX flyer that loads up with complex acft and scenery, it's probably worth doing. An FS9 flyer...maybe not so much. My last machine was a 3.5GHz X6800 dual-core and an 8800GTX, and I'm now running a 4.4GHz i7-975 and a 480GTX. Night and day difference in FSX, and quite a bit of improvement in FS9 as well. You might try the 480 first in your current system, especially if you run FSX. I had a 295GTX for a few weeks, and it was a real dog in FS.CheersBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Hi Bob. Thanks for the reply. As for addons? I think I spend more on them that I do my computer. I usually get all the complex addons. My qx9650 is OC'ed to 3.85. It runs FSX pretty good but I am sure the 980x is better. question is, how much?
