Engines Constantly Failing

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I have been flying the PMDG 737 for 6 or 7 years. Recently, on every flight the engines fail multiple times. I haven't changed anything procedure wise, nothing such as FSPax running, and nothing set in the PMDG fail menu. As well, no EICAS messages are showing up. Anyone know how I can fix this? I appreciate it. Thanks.

Any new add ons? New keyboard mapping? Need to understand what else changed even if your sure it wouldn't effect the NG. :(

Haven't added/changed anything related to FS. I did install a racing game on my computer, but I don't see how that would effect it?

Same problem here. Been flying the PMDG 737 for years. I follow the checklist every time. I have added no new add-ons, and I've made no recent changes to my system, but within the past two days, I can no longer control the PMDG 737 throttles correctly. On take-off roll for example, I engage A/T, engines spool up to around 92%, and about mid-way through the take-off roll, the engines suddenly cut. In flight, the autopilot and A/T are erratic and unstable. The aircraft pitches wildly and the engines fluxuate from TO or CMB N1 down to 21% and back up again. Only by disengaging the AP and A/T can I regain control of the aircraft. I also cannot manually control the throttles if the A/T is in ARM mode on the ground. For example, whereas I used to ARM the A/T just before taxiing into position, if I now do that, the throttles no longer respond to manual input. I therefore cannot ARM the A/T until I'm lined up in position and ready to go. I'm a very experienced PMDG 737 pilot (my choice aircraft) and a real-world pilot too. I've logged literally hundreds of hours in the PMDG 737 with no problems at all. I run Windows XP on a machine with plenty of power. I have a registered version of FSUIPC. Again, I've flown the 737 for years and have made no changes to my add-ons, system, etc.I've reset all flight control assignments, tried running flight sim with no other add-ons (e.g., no weather programs, no nav or flight plan programs) and I've recalibrated the yoke (also tried flying with the yoke / joystick completely disconnected). All other add-on aircraft (I have the LDS 767 and FeelThere 737-300/500) seem to work as they always have. I've tried everything short of reinstallation. Anyone have any ideas?BenDallas, TX

Are you starting from the PMDG aircraft or a different saved flight?

I've tried it both ways, but it doesn't make a difference (I'm familiar with the problems associated with starting PMDG from saved flights, so that's one of the first things I tried). It seems as though this thread highlights a similar problem, but I don't run the weather program that apparently caused this other user's similar problems. http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...81298&st=25I'm completely stumped because, just a couple of days ago, the PMDG worked like a charm (as it has for the years I've owned it) and, even though I changed nothing on my computer or with flight sim, suddenly anytime I activate the A/T, everything goes to hell. If you have any other suggestions, I welcome them (and thank you for your help).Ben

I've also ran into engine failures in the last 4 days. Up until now PMDG has always worked great. I use Fsbuild, Active sky, and Radar contact. Everything has worked fine for the last year until 4 days ago. First time was on 2 mile final into KRNO when the left engine quit, made it down but probably had a few upset passengers. :( Next was 40 miles out of KDEN and both engines quit. (we all died) I just wonder what is causing it, I don't have any new things installed. Hoping for answers. Jerry Sterner
