I haven't completed a flight yet without a CTD

Featured Replies

With my heavy add-ons I can haul them up to cruise then feel that I can safely go away and have lunch (or go to work on a really long haul). Not with this one, oh dear no ... Even being off in this browser window is making me nervous about not being there watching the ice and EGT cautions !It's fantastic !The CTD's are very consistent, they are on the tutorial flight very soon after I begin descending. I've flown the exact same flight plan at the same altitudes in another add-on which is a lot harder on the processor (heavy iron gets like that) and that did it just fine, so I don't *think* it's the computer being overstretched.I'm currently doing a local flight which is of similar duration which is my first venture out of the tutorial, and greatly looking forward to seeing what happens when the nose tips down !Gary

What OS are you using? If it's 32 bit, you need to move to 64bit, that should end any crashes related to Windows user address space. (which is a lot of them) If it's Win7 see the stickied post about Graphics Corruption and crashes in the General forum, do the uiautomationcore.dll fix there and add HIGHMEMFIX=1 to your fsx.cfg.

Yes, win7 32 bit. I'll check those posts out, thanks for that :)Gary

I just posted up on this very situation, approach and CTD especially when changing RW. Very consistent, however, I am Win7 64 bit. Do I still need to add the HIGHMEMFIX=1?Thanks

I did a new install of win7HP 64bit, then did a clean install of FSX / spack1 / spack2, then installed the J41. The only problem I've encountered since then has been my lousy piloting :( CheersGary
