May 22, 201016 yr Hi allI'm trying to add a downloaded scenery file to Addon Scenery in FSX using Windows 7.I have full Administrator rights.Every time I try to add the file (drag & drop or copy/paste), I get a 'Access denied' message, suggesting I need full administrator rights, etc.I've even tried this by turning off this security in User Access Control (UAC).These 'security' settings in Win 7 are driving me nuts! (Life was so easy with Windows XP.....)Has anyone found a way to overcome this?Toni.

Ax I'm sure you'll appreciate, this must be done in the first place before starting FSX and adding to the library.....Toni.

Apparently you installed FSX in the default location - under Program files - which subjects everything to the seemingly never ending "permssions" issues - instead of installing it elsewhere, away from Program files - as highly recommended in many posts.2. If a re-installation is not an option for you, try the following:a. Right click on the shortcut which starts FSX and select Properties - then select Security.b. You will get get a screen like the attached screenshot where you can check the permission levels for any and all "users" of your system. If necessary, use the "edit" option to grant "full permissions" to yourself and anyone with "adminstrator" credentials.3. On the "Compatibility" tab, place a check mark in the "Run as adminstrator" box and be sure to hit OK when finished making these changes. That should allow you to drag and drop and cut and paste as usual.Hope these ideas are useful.
