Attachpoint Tool used on group ?

Featured Replies

What is the proper way to use the Attachpoint Tool (Gmax) when applying visibility to a group ? Do I have to dissasemble the group and attach to each part ? With Animation Manager, working with groups is no issue. Is there an easy way to remove an attachment of visibilty to a whole group, as right clicking properties doesn't work with groups ?

This should work...I have groups - like the pilot - that can be hidden using a single visibility tag on the parent object.One tip

You can select ALL the parts required for one "Attachpoint" Vosobolity Entry and the tools will add the parameters to them all,However it is better IMO to LINK the parts to one node and apply the visibility to That node only, the rest will follow ;)The easy way to remove the parameter under object properties (Right click the slected part) will now work and you only have to think about the top nodeHope this Helps ?

Thanks and I can apply that thinking to some of my situations. One problem I will have is with my co-pilot who I need to dissappear but certain parts of him are linked to other things (like right arm is linked to the stick and the left arm is linked to another object and the shoes are linked to each pedal and the head is linked to the rudder).It sure would be nice to have a "listing" of attachpoint (visibilities) somewhere which could simply be editted, but I am told that doesn't exist.

All visibility conditions are contained in one file: modeldef.xmlAll you need to do is open it and look...You can also very easily create your own, custom visibility conditions, as they don't need any GUID or <Animation.../> entries!
  <PartInfo>	<Name>HSI_To_Flag</Name>	<Visibility>	  <Parameter>		<Code>		  (A:HSI TF FLAGS,enum) 1 ==		</Code>	  </Parameter>	</Visibility>  </PartInfo>

The above is a "flag" that will appear in a Horizontal Situation Indicator if the OBS is turned to a "TO" a VOR signal.If that complete entry is placed in your modeldef.xml file, then you'd simply tag the part using the Attach Point Tool's "Visibility" menu... :(

Hi Bill;I meant, to check what had already been applied to various parts of the model, it would be nice to have a listing to verify. :( Thanks-Glenn
