June 16, 201015 yr I'm trying to make a flight recording within FSX, never tried this before. I make the video recording as described in the FSX Learning Center, I saved the video giving it a name & description. When trying to play the video clip it opens in a paused-state, when unpausing to play the video, an error box opens labeled Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. In the box is says:X Run time error !Program C:\ Program filesR6025- pure virtual function call When deleting the Error Box, FSX greys-out, you have to restart FSX, no fun. I checked the "event viewer" in Win7 and the fault was identified in application fsx.exe, and the module was "demo.dll"I'm running FSX with the OS being Windows 7 64-bit. What do I need to tweak to create and run a video and avoid this error notice? Thanks in advance.Tony
June 16, 201015 yr To be honest, your best bet is to simply hit replay in FS and use FRAPS to record the replay. That would mean buying FRAPS, but it's a far more flexible way to get the job done.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 16, 201015 yr Instead of trying to use the built in recorder (in either FSX or FS2004), many of us use the great FSRecorder utility - which is free:http://www.fs-recorder.net/It is far more versitile than the default - trust me.If we wish to "share" the recording then many use FRAPS to capture the output of FSRecorder and then the Movie Maker of MS to make any desired edits and reduce the finished file size. You can check out FRAPS here:http://www.fraps.com/If memory serves there is a free trial download available.
June 17, 201015 yr Thanks guys, bought FRAPS. It's great, now I'm making movies, unfortunately it would be nicer if MS Movie Maker could compress them a little better. My 17 minute FRAPS session resulted in a 502 MB movie, when scaling down to making a email version it came out to 35 MB, but the detail was unviewable. Guess I'll have to tinker and make smaller movies.Tony

After the upload is completed, they send an e-mail to the person which contains a link they can click on to download the file.At YouSendIt the file is kept on their server for 7 days (or 100 downloads) and then is deleted.Works like a charm and it is free. There a many variations on this idea available online. Using one of them might allow you to keep you file size large enough to have good details.Hope that info is useful.
June 17, 201015 yr Commercial Member To be honest, for a 17 minute video, that seems like a reasonable size. I'm currently rendering a 7 minute or so video for a client with a filesize of 400+MB. Raw unformatted AVI can be very large, and if you look at the original size of the file compared to the compression that it makes in WMV it is incredible.
