June 17, 201015 yr Is there a step by step guide on how to configure RC on a client running (winXP) and FSX on another running (win7)? I finally got my REX running fine on client but I cant get RC to accept the .FLT/.WX Path=. I have both copies of FSUIPC and WideFS. WideFS is currently on client and and widefs server and .ini are in FSX modules. Fsuipc is set up as usual. When I browse toi the network path where my flightsim pln files are, nothing happens after selecting...Any help would be great...ThanksTroy
June 17, 201015 yr Ok..I think I got that resolved..From the Radar contact Options, its obviously not possible to browse to the FSX.pln network path using the .FLT/.WX path button. It does however work by selecting the flight plan from the shared network folder in my documents. The only other thing i noticed is there is no sound. This could be because I have no speakers connected to my client machine...Question is, should I hear sound then???Troy
June 17, 201015 yr OK..the speakers work and I'm up and flying woo hoo :) This is so cool. I answered and resolved my own questions..Troy

June 19, 201015 yr did the manual's section on using widefs, help?Hi JD, You know I searched through that manual and could not find what i was looking for...But it works now though. Thanks for checking in :)
August 3, 201015 yr If you right-click on the required (server) shared folders on your client pc's networked folders, you need to "MAP" them as virtual drives. Also, make sure you check "Mount on Bootup".This makes life a lot easier, particularly when it comes to running makerwys.exe and updating your scenery. It is covered in the manual... as well as in my (brilliant) article in the March (?) 2009 issue of Computer Pilot magazine......."Networking FSX" :(
