FS2002 and FS2004 comparison

Featured Replies

I find this an interesting exercise. Here's an animated GIF (obviously scaled and of low quality) showing the exact same flight situation in FS2002 and FS2004. Notice the much improved sky color, the better looking airport environment, and--of course--the clouds. One thing that hasn't changed is the inside of the Cessna ;)The most surpising (to me) thing is that the fps is comparable in this situation (sitting on the runway at KSEA) between both sims, even with the 3d clouds (other sliders the same). It's pretty hard to be critical about the performance of the sim in this context. This tiny screenshot doesn't do it justice, of course, but I think the overall look is much more detailed and realistic in FS2004.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30120.gif

Hi, The weather was not realistic in fs2002 below the clouds, above the clouds, clouds from higher altitude visual was not reprensented the clouds from lower altitude and higher altitude all flat sheet from higher level clouds, no stratus, 1 cumulus type and 1 thunderstorm type, disapearing clouds, always streched clouds with higher clouds, paper thing clouds blocking, strong line in the horizon from clouds, rain/snow issue, and I am not talking about the sky.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs
