737 6/7 liveries do not install (Windows 7)

Featured Replies

I have noticed that other persons have posted on their problems with livery installation, primarily with Windows Vista. My system: Windows 7 + FS9.1. AMD Turion II Dual Core 2.2 Mhz. ATI Radeon, 4GB RAM.The executable liveries from PMDG do not appear once FS9 is running. The installation occurs without any problem, and the folders and modifications to the aircraft cfg file are present and intact. The "flitsim" sequence is correct and intact for the models. Also, I have been certain to run the installations as administrator. I noticed this problem after I had installed maybe 4 liveries, and after that no other liveries would appear on FS9. Thanks for your help in advance.Jos

Hello, thanks for your reply. I'm running only the 600/700 version (1.3). I'm downloading liveries from the PMDG website. I rund the downloads as administrator, and I check the cfg files and the folders to make sure they have installed in the correct places, but they do not show up in the aircraft menu in FS9....(Also, I forgot to mention that I have the PMDG 747-400 installed as well.) Jos

Yes, I have disabled the UAC in Windows 7. Unfortunately, it still does not appear in FS9.

Have you disabled the UAC? That can keep some programs from installing properly, and in this case, the liveries.

Hello Norman,Here's what I've done so far: I have made certain the the livery installer finds the FS9 installation. I've also removed the PMDG 747. Then, I aslo went ahead and removed the 737-6/7 with the PMDG romval tool. After removing both installations, I re-installed only the 737, making sure that the UAC was turned off. This installed just fine. I attempted to install a livery once again (Continental 737), but this did not show up on the FS9 menu. Instead, what I noticed in the aircraft menu is that the names of the previous livery installations were present, but the texture files had been obviously removed during the uninstall, so no livery appeared on the displayed aircraft. Now I'm completely livery-less. I'm pasting As you can see on the pasted aircraft.cfg file below, the livery appears on the list, and the texture folder is where it should be, but the aircraft does not appear. I am certain that I had installed the 747 after the 737 as the knowledge base recommends.

Hi Jose,Are checking that the installer is finding your FS9 installation? You also need to install the 600/700 first before installing the 747.This is part of a topic in the PMDG kowledge base. The proper order for FS9 is 600/700,800/900,747,MD11.If you get the 747 first and then get the 600/700 you need to uninstall the 747 then install the 600s then the 747.This could be part of your problem.Norman Bowman
Are there any files in the texture.CO folder? There should be 76 files in it. Also, try to install the livery to a temporary folder and cut and paste the folder into the PMDG 737-700 folder.
Hi Jose,It appears that the removal tool is not clearing out you system fully when uninstalling. When I run the uninstaller,I am only left with the PMDG folder without any files within that folder.I cannot help you any further at this point therefore contact PMDG support using the new trouble ticket system. If I can think of anything else to try I will be in touchNorman
