June 28, 201015 yr Hi guys bought Aerosim classics vol.2 at the weekend but have a question/problem with the L1011. I cannot enter waypoints in the CDU. Am I missing something really silly. No problem with the INS in the DC8/DC10.Also as I downloaded this product at the weekend do I need to update to patch 3?Thanks for your timeCheersMiles
July 1, 201015 yr You can not manually add waypoints, I'm afraid. This is done via a textfile in which you have to write down in a specific format the route you want to fly. When that is done you can load that route into the CDU and fly it. I suggest reading the manual for more information (do the tutorial, it is very useful!)All you have to install from the updates are SP1 and update file No. 4. July 14, 201015 yr While the unit in the L1011 might LOOK like an INS its really some unique controller that acts a lot more like an FMC than just a CIVA INS say.For a while I thought about trying to hack a couple CIVA INS' into the plane, butafter you get used to it the native controller is rather nice, it has the ability to doVNAV which of course an INS could never do.Also, with this unit there is no reloading coordinates midflight, it can handle asmany waypoints as you need in the flightplan. The file format is rather a nuisance, but there is a converter app that seems to workwell enough.
