If you have some deep love for that aircraft what about the XP12 option, don't own it but FlyJSim is well regarded? Flying XP12 is certainly a much nicer environment than P3D, lol.

There is no good answer, the whole career feature is so broken, you end up having to "game" it in the various ways being described, which ruins immersion... so what's even the point, at least that's way I feel about it. It's really unfortunate, I really would love to see something that worked 😞

Another couple questions, when you unpaused it was anything wrong that you needed to correct? And, what was the origin-destination, I might try to reproduce your problem, I do have the 777 🙂

I wonder if it's something like a protective pause, if I remember correctly the A350 also has a setting where more than just a TOD can cause it to pause, this is actually a good thing because if you are sleeping and something happens that would, say, take the plane off course, wouldn't you rather have it pause waiting for hands-on intervention? I'm only speculating here, but you might look thru all the sim settings for the plane, or go ask on the PMDG forums for that matter. Do let us know what you find out!

I concur, just completed my first cargo flight (Prime Air) and I couldn't be happier, performed flawlessly, KPDX-KONT, the autoland was like 145fpm, was impressed. I am super happy to welcome this fine plane into the new sim, worth every penny! Happy New Year!

I did my PPL training in 2016, after turning 60 btw, you certainly do have to know how VOR's work, I believe the written will have questions, and yes my instructor actually had me use it during flight once or twice, but it certainly did NOT come up at all in the actual practical/flight exam. When ADS/B was mandated I had a Garman 375 put into my Cherokee, this is not quite as big or fancy as the 650 or 750 but its still a color display. As you say, my mode was to have Foreflight on my iPad, which actually communicated with the Garmin, that gave me a BIG display of the surrounding airspace. Was more than enough. As for SID/STARs, if you look, most of them disallow a "non turbojet" anyway 🙂 I never completed IFR training, it just wasn't practical for my flying, which was completely for personal enjoyment anyway. But for "situational awareness" as the FAA calls it, having modern aviations makes life SO much easier. Happy Holidays!

Puchased the upgrade this morning, I had the 2020 plane working, but it's definitely worth the upgrade, it now has the native walk-around features of the new sim, and also of course the new GPSS feature, I didn't run a complete flight, but did a startup-to-cruise just to verify functionality. Yup, thing still is a pain to start, lol... But its beautiful, going to enjoy many hours in the sim with this! Thanks A2A! Merry Christmas indeed 🙂

I've never flown the Comanche, but I am a PPL and flew a Cherokee for many years. It really isn't complicated, trim is there so you don't have to fight with the controls, you trim so whatever state the plane is in will be maintainable hands off, or nearly so. There is a certain amount of personal taste in trim as well, pilots will have a preference on how the plane feels to them on landing. Maybe you want more trim down and then have a sight pressure against that as you come in. But it should always be a light touch, hope this helps!

Oh, it does? Maybe I'm confused because in spite of an obviously correct runway given that weather the stupid thing was still assigning me a takeoff with a 10 knot tail wind 🙂 I should check again, thanks. And, by stupid I mean internal ATC, not BATC.

Ah yes, a real world resource, thanks! Of course the problem the OP noted still exists, the sim and ALL its infrastructure, meaning EFB and external or internal ATC should use this data. I'm not sure what PMDG does, but someone might file a bug with them? Would be really nice to finally have historic weather all work correctly! Jack

I had to perform a go-around once at Mulino (4S9) here in Oregon due to deer on the runway, it's not at all uncommon on some of the small airfields in this area.

You don't say which sim 🙂 but assuming 2024 I just tried it and it seemed correct to me, are you sure it wasnt some weather setting? I only observe the usual (and realistic) need for some right rudder after take off. Jet's are not a good comparison, you should check some other single engine prop.

The cargo world flies the heck out of the MD11 and 767 these days, they are hardly some ancient anomoly, and while the 744F is still used I don't believe the older models really are, at least I haven't seen any IRL. The 767 is something that still makes me keep XP12 installed, I'd kill for a quality one in MSFS! Same for the 777, only reason I fly it is cargo, and the PMDG rocks! I just don't see why they don't do the 767 😞
