FS2024 paused on a long haul flight

Featured Replies

So I woke up pretty mad this morning. I was doing an Asia to u.s long haul flight, and sometime during the night, the game paused (same as hitting the escape key).

How do you prevent this from happening? Otherwise I can't do long haul flights at all.

What plane? You probably have some sort of "Pause at ToD" type of thing enabled.

It's the pmdg 777, but I was nowhere near the top of decent. I was over the Pacific in between Russia and Alaska (but far south of the bering strait)

Maybe someone else has an idea as well, but I would start by eliminating one cause - is it the plane? Try a different plane like the A350 (or even the default planes, anything that lets you do a long haul will work).

This happened to me last week in the IniA350. I assumed the internet went out for a second and paused the game because that has happened before but i'm not too sure.

I'll be going out today, I could try leaving the sim on while I'm gone to see if it happens again.

Hopefully someone has an idea otherwise I cannot do long haul flights without monitoring the computer.

It'll get fixed, don't be all doom and gloom. All of run long haul with no issues. Probably a third party program paused it, or maybe an intermittent network issue. Just think of what you may have changed  - also, have you previously been able to do long haul on 2024 with the 777?

Go to MSFS2020, very stable at long haul flights, to do not waste your time i would not do that long flights in 2024 !

cheers 😉

This was actually my first long haul attempt in fs2024

I wonder if it's something like a protective pause, if I remember correctly the A350 also has a setting where more than just a TOD can cause it to pause, this is actually a good thing because if you are sleeping and something happens that would, say, take the plane off course, wouldn't you rather have it pause waiting for hands-on intervention?

I'm only speculating here, but you might look thru all the sim settings for the plane, or go ask on the PMDG forums for that matter.

Do let us know what you find out!

Another couple questions, when you unpaused it was anything wrong that you needed to correct? And, what was the origin-destination, I might try to reproduce your problem, I do have the 777 🙂

I found this support article for smartCARs, don't suppose you are using that?? We'd need to get PMDG to comment on what is happening internally that the plane is toggling this. Still, this is interesting...

The corresponding PMDG thread, I don't really see an answer:

I've had this happen a couple of times but it is usually because the internet went out for a bit.

My money is on @heavy1216 and @Bigt's suggestions.   A loss of connectivity 'blip'.

Long haul in 2024 is fine, no need to worry.

Slight side-quest..

What's really bugging me is in 4 x SU's there is still no real, actual, true PAUSE.

You can Pause time in the Dev Mode menu but even this does not stop AI from moving. It appears the AI injector does not "pause"
