June 28, 201015 yr Howdy all, I have downloaded the POSKY 737-700 southwest aircraft, and noticed the flaps take a few minutes, thats right a few minutes to fully extend. It does not take nearly that much time on other aircraft. has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to increase the speed with which the flaps extend? Also, as a sidebar, did anyone ever figure out how to change the eyepoint of the 2D cockpit? I have to keep my panel transparency up at like 60% (tried searching the forums, but couldnt get any keywords in there). thanks, Jafo
June 29, 201015 yr Moderator I don't have that model, but flap extension speed is adjustable in the aircraft.cfg file's [flaps] section: [flaps.0]type=1span-outboard=1.0extending-time=27 // seconds total time from retracted to full extension 2d panel eyepoint is -as in every aircraft- adjusted in the a/c's panel.cfg file: VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.800 // sets the initial zoom value as a percentageVIEW_FORWARD_DIR=4.800, 0.000, 0.000 // pitch, bank and heading Unlike previous versions of FS, in FSX there are only these two settings available for VIEW_FORWARD_xxxWhat determines your view "out the 2d window" is affected by the VIEW_FORWARD_DIR settings, only the first of which is truly useful, which is pitch. In the example above, I've set the pitch to a 4.8 degree view angle downwards, so I can see the ground surface, and the horizon is approximately at the mid-point of the view out the window. One other setting will determine "what you see out the window," and that is the position of the 3d outside view's bottom edge. This is controlled by the parameter in the [Default View] entry of the panel.cfg file: [Default View]X=0Y=0SIZE_X=8192SIZE_Y=3500 In the example above, the 3d outside view's position is set to the upper-left corner 0,0 and the width is set for 8192 (default width). The important value is SIZE_Y which is the bottom edge of the 3d outside view, which ideally will be just below the top edge of the 2d panel's glareshield. In fact, this should be adjusted (if necessary) before even considering the VIEW_FORWARD_DIR setting!
