approach mode won't arm

Hi,I am in Heading Mode to intercept the localiser and the approach mode will not arm.This is not the first time I have experienced this problem and I wondered what I am doing wrong.Any advice would be appreciated.ThanksBill Miller

I assume you are putting the ILS frequency in the Nav radio? Do you have V/L screen set on the HSI and do you see the glideslope/localiser on the ADI/PFD?

Thanks for input chaps. My mistake, didn't understand about intercepting localiser before arming APR mode.Bill
