July 3, 201015 yr I am having a problem with the repaint kit for the FSX Alphasim AS365 Dauphin. I hope one of the many more knowledgeable people on this forum can help shed some light on this problem. First, I have a mediocre repaint knowledge already. I have numerous Nemeth helicopters and use their repaint kits and have zero issues. Anyone familiar with the two companies will know there is a fairly big difference between the repaint kits. The Nemeth kits are blank layered PSD files that have text included like Quad Core Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4 GHz, 1 GB nVidia GTX 275, 8GB DDR3 PC3-10600 MB/sec RAM, 300GB 10,000 RPM HD
July 3, 201015 yr Did you try flipping the textures when converting them? Many paintkits need to be flipped when coverted to dds (the majority do). I would also recommend using ImageTool to do your conversion from .bmp to .dds. It's included in the SDK at \\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Terrain SDK\ImageTool.exe

July 7, 201015 yr Author First, the support at Alphasim was tremendous and helped me with this issue. The problem was with the alpha channel. To get the new textures to show I had to save them as a 32 bit bmp, then import the alpha channel from a current dds texture and apply it to my bmp file.
