July 5, 201015 yr There is a problem with FSX when reciprocal runways have the same ILS frequency and you're trying to fly a coupled (autopilot linked to the ILS) approach. You will not pick up the correct ILS. depending on which runway you are attempting to land. For example, if you attempt to fly a coupled approach into KLGA (La Guardia) on RWY 22, and you tune in the ILS in on 110.5 (I--URD), you will pick up the ILS for runway 04 (I-LGA), which has the same frequency as RWY 22, and you will not be able to fly this approach coupled to the AP. Likewise, for Runway 30L/12R at KSJC (San Jose), if you attempt to fly a coupled ILS approach to 30L, it's not going to work because you'll get the ILS for RWY 12R, which has the same frequency as 30L (110.9). In both cases above, it's the ILS for the lower numbered RWY that you'll get.The result of this is that as you attempt to land, (on SJC 30L or LGA 22) your aircraft is turned in the opposite direction, since it's picking up the wrong ILS. I haven't found a fix for this and I suspect there isn't one, other than to hand fly the aircraft or fly a VOR approach if one is available.Bob
July 5, 201015 yr I've found that when this happens it's usually caused by my having added a third-party afcad for a neighboring airport. Pull all your third-party afcads and see if it now works. If so, then it's just a matter of determining which of your afcads is the culprit.Robert Robert Chartoff

I should add that in the real world, when two reciprocal runways have the same ILS freq., ATC will turn off the ILS for the inactive runway, so this does not pose a problem. But I don't think there's anyway to conveniently "turn off" an ILS in FSX.
July 5, 201015 yr Had a problem with this when I was using Traffic X which adds airport scenery. Problem goes away once disabling the traffic x scenery or uninstalling it. I know use WorldofAI.

I know use WorldofAI.I think you just solved my problem. I am using Traffic X. And when I googled the problem, I found some info from other websites which indicated that unchecking traffic X scenery in the Scenery Library resolved the ILS issue. And, as a double bonus, this action does not eliminate the Traffic X add-on Aircraft in the sim. Thanks for the input.Bob
July 5, 201015 yr I think you just solved my problem. And, as a double bonus, this action does not eliminate the Traffic X add-on Aircraft in the sim.And now all the traffic flying about has lost a whole lot of parking spaces, so expect to see planes just go "poof" once they've landed. There's now a whole lot less parking, so there will be a lot less planes spawning and filling the skies. Some other stuff also, but I needn't bother you with all that. But glad you got the other problem solved.
