scenery.cfg in Win 7

Featured Replies

On loading FSX in Windows 7, I keep getting a scenery.cfg error flashing up, stating that it '...cannot find fileXXX in scenery area.139' etc.I deleted the file in question manually using Windows Explorer (when I finally figured out the Permissions issues......) and the only scenery.cfg I can find on the system is in the Flight Simulator directory. On that scenery.cfg file, the areas only go up to area.115....!Is there another scenery.cfg file 'hidden' somewhere that I can edit manually to get rid of the error messages? Thanks for any help....Toni.

On my setup the scenery.cfg which FSX writes to when new scenery is added is located here:C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSXProgramData is a "hidden" folder. The other one you found is a backup containing only the required default entries.Hope that helps.
