My Poskies(747)have gone potty

Featured Replies

Hello AllAll my Posky 747's tip up backwards when i try to fly them.I have never had trouble with them before. They always come overweight, but even when I try different fuel and cargo weight setups the result is the same...nose points at sky, horrid sparks at tail. The latest I have tried the TNT CARGO 747 both from Posky site and another from AVSIM. RESULT........Nose in air,bum on ground, horrid sparks STRANGE!Andy

Hello,No probs with the 747's Posky (and using standard load and fuel)This is a full loaded 747 video http://www.simteevee.com/watch.php?mdid=1332&t=747-TestMaybe your autopilot is active or a bad trim setting.Regards.bye.gifGus.

Thanks GuysIt does seem as though that is the problem, but I did try all sorts of fuel and payload combi's(within the limits obviously) and still they tip backwards. As I said in my original post i never used to get this problem before.I did wonder weather it might be something to do with how my default flt is setup and therefore influencing my 747's or perhaps i got my various POSKY updates (of which there are many) muddled up I.E. wrong model flie, air file etc Anyways chaps its no big deal I don't the 747's that often, but it is strange.PS the downloaded 747s (at least the ones i have tried recently ie TNT 747)are always way overloaded anyway and have to be adjusted to within operating limits.BUT! backwards they go still. Thanks for your thoughts guysAndy

Hello GuysYou were right.I had to much weight in the tail.I don't know if the latest POSKY models have become more demanding in there loading and balancing of fuel and cargo(which is no bad thing really)I am sure i just used to fuel up,load cargo(obviously within what I thought was acceptable limits)and go.However after spending some time trying to get fuel and cargo balanced for a flt of about 1100 miles,i was in business again and successfully completed a trip from FVHA(Har.....Zimbabwe)to HKJK( J Kenyatta Kenya).Kevin! I really don't know if I altered anything in the Aircraft CFG (or anything else for that matter)because it is easily done with the POSKYs with there mass of FDE,MODEL,SEVICE PACKS,GROUND SERVICE VEHICLE add ons ETC.Still!for all the mucking about needed sometimes to get airborne with POSKY aircraft, they are very nice models, good lookers and nice to fly(Don't bash the tail on take-off though as you will be stuck with the horrid POSKY sparks effect)Cheers Andy

You can easily get rid of the sparks and fumes in case of a tail strike Just edit the effects stance like this sarcastic.gif[EFFECTS]wake=fx_wakewater=fx_spraydirt=fx_tchdrt //concrete=Opensky_sparks, 1Regards.bye.gifGus.

Thanks GusWhen I am using my sim for normal flight,I don't worry about the sparks effect to much(it actually encouraged me to take-off correctly using the 747 and not to bash its tail by climbing to steeply :( )but it WAS annoying whilst trying to experiment with fuel and cargo loads. The problem with those effects is you can't stop them by reloading the aircraft or any other aircraft either as they will exhibit them as well,so you have no choice but to reset the flight.Cheers to youAndy

Well, the reason I asked was that you said you tried every possible weight loading combination, but since you now said you had too much weight in the tail, disregard my question.
