July 15, 201015 yr Tonight I went ahead and tried to install Hellas Scenery Project (HSP) base scenery installed that covers all of Greece. (Here is the link for the scenery http://www.avsim.com/greece/scenery/index_main.htm)After I downloaded it I moved the "TEMP FOLDER HSP Greece BASE scenery" folder to my main FS9 folder. I then copied the "HSP_BASEV2_INSTALL BAT" file to my main FS9 folder and ran it. After it ran I looked in my sim and saw the coastlines were all square and some airports were not displaying correct. (I did install the "HSP Greece" and "HSP Greece no textures" folders like any other airport scenery I have)Can someone please explain to me how to install this scenery? I obviously did not do it correct!
July 15, 201015 yr Author I have some more info that I can give so you guys can help me. I have add on scenery for Kos, Samos, and Rhodes. Do I need go into the "HSP Greece" and "HSP Greece no textures" folders and delete everything for those sceneries? Cause I saw the square coastlines at Samos and Rhodes.(the add on scenery is made by Aerosoft and Greek Airports Projects *GAP*)
July 15, 201015 yr Don't delete them -- just rename anything with those in the name from .bgl or .bmp to .BAK. That way if you need any of those files for anything you still have them. Also go back and read the entire installation directions carefully and make sure all folders (scenery and landclass files) are placed in the proper order in your scenery configuration list in FS9. I'm sorry but that's the most help I can be right now -- I'm not in front of my Flight Sim computer right now and I won't be for several hours. But don't give up! Those sceneries are just awesome - and I can't believe they're all freeware! Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. July 15, 201015 yr Author I tried it again and I still have square coastlines. This time I left everything in the Hellas Scenery Project (HSP) base zip folder and just moved the "HSP_BASEV2_INSTALL BAT" to my FS9 folder and ran it. Copied the "HSP Greece" and "HSP Greece no textures" folders to my add on scenery folder and installed them. I made sure the no "textuer folder" was on top and all my greek add on airports were on top of the HSP folders. But it's still not working.I don't have any other custom landclass or mesh in the area (that I know of). When I was in the sim I did the top down view and then zoomed out. It appears that the square coastlines are in a large area.
July 15, 201015 yr Author Ok I figured out what was wrong. In the HSP base files there was files in the asia/scenery folder and eure/scenery folder that were not getting installed. They were files that started with HSPASIAxxx.bgl and HSPEURExxx.bgl, I thought those files were getting installed when I ran the "HSP_BASEV2_INSTALL BAT" file. So I just copied the files over to the proper FS9 folders manually and now everything works.
July 16, 201015 yr Very cool! Hope you enjoy Greece! :( Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B.
