July 22, 201015 yr Hey folks, I've been away from flying IRL and sim while my kids grew up a bit. I'm looking to get in the game again and was wondering if there are any packages as mentioned in the subject.IRL I'll be flying something like this: Dynamic WT-9The cockpit has Dynon EFIS D100 and EMS D120 along with a AVMAP EKP GPS.Can something similar be "built" using freeware/payware aircraft and instrument packages?Basically I want to be able to fly at around 125 KIAS, stall at around 30-35 knots and have a electronic instrument panel. The outside is not really that important since I'll be flying from the inside. :D /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
July 22, 201015 yr Maybe the DA-42 is something for you?http://www.eaglesoftdg.com/DiamondDA42.htmDon't know how fast it is (I don't own it but I am interested!).
July 22, 201015 yr I immediately thought of the DA-42 too! I've got it and it's a great little plane with a big, wide unobstructed view from the cockpit and comes with excellent glass instruments, the G1000 and the KAP 140 AP, which all work superb together. It's top speed is around 145.
July 22, 201015 yr A DA-42 is hardly a ultralight/LSA...Lionheart is making a Dynamic WT-9 with glass and steam instruments...http://web.me.com/william_ortis/Lionheart/...f_slovakia.htmlJust Flight are making a Pipersport but not sure whether it includes glass instruments and Flight1 is also making a Cessna Skycatcher.
July 23, 201015 yr A DA-42 is hardly a ultralight/LSA...Yeah, I could hardly believe my eyes that someone would try to fit DA-42 in that category. :( Michael J.
July 23, 201015 yr Yeah, I could hardly believe my eyes that someone would try to fit DA-42 in that category. :(Lol, calm down you guys....you make it sound like we suggested a 747! :(
July 23, 201015 yr Author Lol, calm down you guys....you make it sound like we suggested a 747! :(Lol, no sweat mate ;) All suggestions so far are welcome, I'll try to find some performance for the DA bird since the flight envelope is most important. It would be an ok substitute if the stall speed is suitable (which I doubt, but hey). Googled and it seems that it's stall speed is at 68 knots which disqualifies it, bummer :)Still, great news that Lionheart is doing the actual thingy. That's a sure buy for me when they release the FSX version, thanks for that info! /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
