August 10, 201015 yr Hello there,My name is Rein from the Netherlands. I am new in flightsimulation. I bought FS9 for a few Euro's (dollars). And I must admit, I am totally addicted to it. I followed the lessons and now I am trying to pass the instrument rating checkride. Everything is fine except for the landing at the end. I always get the message: "You did not stay within the assigned speed". O.K. I know from the forums that airspeed checking is off for a long time: I thought after passing PARKK. I pass all checkpoints except landing. I also know that you have to come to a full stop within 30 seconds after touching the runway. Perhaps that is the problem; I won't succeed in coming to a full stop in 30 seconds. Or is there another issue I might miss. How do you manage to come to a full stop in 30 seconds; I use the brakes (. on the keyboard) direct after landing and throttle is slow down to about 60 knots. Can someone help me?Thanks.Rein
August 10, 201015 yr Much lollage as I read this... I have yet to get beyond the hold over SEA VOR... (only 'cos I have a joystick like a wooden spoon in a bucket of porridge (and 'cos I'm lazy)).But... I'll be watching this thread to see if I can pick up some tips. There is a very good tutorial/walkthrough for the instrument checkride here at Avsim. I came across it a few months ago but (sorry) I can't remember who posted it. Perhaps another reader will know and post the link?Regards,D
August 10, 201015 yr Author Yes, I know about that. It's like a walkthrough. You can search for that. It is great help. But my problem is at the absolute end of the checkride. I get the message that my speed was not right, as i said in my first post. How is that possible if speed is not checked in the last part of the checkride.Rein
August 11, 201015 yr Author I know what I did wrong. When appplying the brakes you have to keep the . button pressed. My mistake is that I pressed it once en then immediately released it. When you keep the brakes button pressed, you certainly stop within 30 seconds.Rein
